I already play a Warwick Corvette $$ with an ovangkol neck and i actually like also the wenge neck of the Fortess I sold. When did Warwick changed it and why? I already searched for the answer but could not find it. Was it because of money or for any technical reason?

All other things being equal, how would a bass sound different with bodies made of these two woods? Is Ovangkol brighter? Does some wood work better for some types of pickups?

Hey peeps ! I currently own a Corvette $$ with an ovangkol neck. Since my bass has a coloured oil finish, there's no Warwick wax provided with the bass. My problem is that even with my hands clean, the neck becomes dirty very quick, I can almost feel the dirtyness under my left hand...

what exactly does all this mean? is it four stripes of ovangkol with three small stripes of the body wood (swamp ask in this case, the vette $$) in between, the laminated all over?
