Show Us Your Non- Warwick Bass Then!

I'm a big fan of Yamaha BBs. The 2024 is truly desirable. I've been pounding my BBn5 since '96.

This was given to me by a friend last week, found it in a thrift shop for a reasonable price.
Riverhead Unicorn RUB-1090 made in Japan, passive with a placebo switch (havent found out what it does yet), double singlecoil.
They also made these with a humbucker in the bridge and passive EQ and a 4EQ with two single coils. Called RUB-1095 and RUB-1100 respectively.

If anyone has any idea on how to restore (or strip it to chrome) the hardware to black let me know!

My only regret with the Ironbird is that I should've routed the control cavity into the backside instead of the front. I might have to fix that some day.
What the hell did I know back in '86? :D

I knew how to drink milk. Me waz 10 yearz. For christmas my parents bought me a funny LP with a Clown-guy on the front cover. Thought this must be some good music for children. It was the "Diary of a Madman" from Ozzy. The intro part of "Believer" burnt it´s way into my virgin mind. So disaster took it´s course.

I forgot I had this bass. It was at my Brother's, in a closet, down in the basement.
Believe it or not, still in tune.
Way to go, China !

The dude from Phantom, Rocker and Slick used to play one of those.

And here's the last "Refurbass" : stagg precision. Cleaned, fixed, scratchplate changed, loaded with EMG-P with Vol/ Stacked Bass Treble Controls.

Electronics worth more then the rest of the bass doubled!
Nice bass though!

Well, i paid 60€ for the electronics, 35 for the P'up, 20 for the Scratchplate...
And 57€ for the bass.
You're not that far ! :-)
I teckon it's more of a game than anything else, but thus P-bass sounds great. The dual band allows a wide enough array of tonal options, but let's be honest : everything cranked up, extra long strap and a pick are the best combination :-)

have a question:
my old vintage Samick loss battery power, even with cable unplugged.. so what to do ?

buying a new stereo JAcket or implant an mini switch to the Front ?

I think the battery clip isn't wired properly, so it's always connected to the circuit.

Might have to resolder it to the jack plug if it isnt already.

you just beat me to it.
Check the battery wiring.

666th post here. Post of the Beast. :-)
