Show Us Your Non- Warwick Bass Then!

Sure! The basses I play most are Warwick's though. ;)
I like to gravitate to 'unique' gear, for some reason I enjoy them more and I don't feel the need to own a dozen different precision or jazz basses.

I think I might install a new nut, this one has some wear and it might damage frets overtime.
Knobs need replacing, might get a different set but these are kind of nice too. Installing a no-load pot would be fancy for some treble boost.

And the E-string is held on by some wizardy, no idea if I'm gonna keep it like this or not. Would have to keep it around for some time to check if it affects tuning.

Oh, missed this message!
It's around 4.6kg, if they shaved off a bottom cut it could be a little bit more ergonomic and lighter but I like it as it is.

well...so here my entry too :)

The more I look at he Kawai the more I like it, great shape

Me too, but if I'd make another one I would contour the body a little bit more, it's very bulky above the bridge.

Can't wait to get some fresh strings and closed pickup covers on it.:)

I homebuilt the body in '86. It's taken me 'til just recently to complete it.:x

Vintage Samick Artist Series NT5 MIK 1991?

Hi :) this is my new Baby.. like a candy chocolate Bar.

SHe is very very tiny and cutie against my all other Basses..the Body is soooo small, that even a small STreamer Body is huge against.
But it is a classy longscale with super slim neck.
At Nut she mesures 42mm, at the end of fretboard 65mm.
The Stringspacing is 15mm.
The total weight is 3850 grams.

SInce after 1 week searching i have nothing found about her in the Internet. nor in older Samick catalogues or in sales :(

I dont know her specific Modelname, nor the exact Date of manufacturing.
I guess she is from 91 because the Serial begins with 91.

But all pics i have seen in the Net dont show any Samick Bass with an open-Book-Headstock.
She has only a sister from Cane, an rebranded same model from Samick.
But about the Cane NT5 exists only a few pics on the net :(

SO i think that she must be very rare or very unpopulaire.

The original pups sounds good and at the moment i dont think to swith to EMG or similar.
For this age the electronic works fine, not pots scratching, very good pots that works from 0 to 12 smoothly, not like cheap pots who are more switches as potis ;)

so here are the "few" pics from her:

Wow... Nice. Bridge and pots look huge, but as you state, it's the tiny body... Looks stunning.
