Annnnd finished !
Nothing like the Beauty Pagent Hypermodels y'all just posted, of course. :x
But I assembled it with love (and a friend with soldering abilities to help me in the process).

I had not time to make a proper set up and test it (I finished it around 2130 yesterday and the kids were already asleep).
The Babicz bridge is really cool. A lot of options for setting it up, strings spacing, intonation, height... Anf the Full Contact Tech is really transmitting vibrations.
The tuners... well I tried to put them on regular style... I did not like it. the head was too "thin" I guess. So I tried with a "Warwick-Like" angle. It looked like a sad puppy. My 10yo son came with the solution : right on top and angled on the bottom. It is, by the way, ergonomic for the tuning.
I emailed the DiMarzio staff about the wiring I wanted to get. The answered within three hours on a sunday afternoon. !!
And they gave my a good wiring schematics, too.
The three volumes are PushPull for the phase of each pickup. I'll have to change those knobs, tho, not really easy to pull those out.
The tonality is equipped with an .22µf Orange Drop. I'm quite pleased about the .22 as it really shaves off just the right amount of treble without muffling the sound.
There is a lot to mess around with three pickups, plus the Dual Sound option of the DiMarzios, it promises to be real fun.
The "Tree Of Life" and "F-Holes" stickers came from Mexico via the Evil Bay. I also have a set of "Birds" decals for another bass.
The tree Of Life is shiny and "holographic", a bit on the Bling side. But it matches the original Tobias Logo.
Aesthetically, it sucks plain ass, I have to admit I rushed into the finishing part and did not think. I came out with the back not toroughly painted, showing wears and traces of doom. Funnily enough, I like it that way.
I'll let it age without any clear coat and see how RoadWorn can come out of this.
Maybe I'll try to order a "real" body and neck through Warmoth (the body on this one is "Radiata" : Radiata is used in house construction as weatherboards, posts, beams or plywood, in fencing, retaining walls, for concrete formers. Real High End Lutherie Wood as you might imagine.
The neck is an asymmetrical profile, which I did not know about until now. It fells weird, as you think you have a fat neck under your thumb, but the other fingers are on a fast thin neck. Maybe I'll get used to it. Maybe not.
Tonight I will also change the balance pot in the Dolphin Pro2, and see if the 500k will liberate the sound of the ModelJ.
Although, after playing this bass as is for awhil, I kinda like the really dark, bassy sound it produces.
