How does it sound like ? Can it be compared with some particular brand or "band" ? I always tought "Zon must sound like Faith No More".

It sounds like "YOU'RE CLIPPING THE AMPLIFIER, TURN THE VOLUME DOWN"

Sounds pretty cool, somewhat neutral but with a 'metal' ish hi-fi clang.

This is a ZON, too:

But I agree, for me ZON sounds like FNM:

Thanks.
Let's call it a "Garage-Reborn Frankenbass". I'm bassicaly messing around this poor Toby with power tools and Bomb paint.
It will be equipped with three DiMarzio UltraJazz, with three Push/Pull volume (with DualSound with the push pull) and one tone lavishly soldered with an OrangeDrop cap -just for the look, i know there's no real interest in those).
As for the Harware, it will be black Gotoh GB707 and a Babicz Bridge.
IF my supplier gets the parts in time, I might be coming with this one at BassCamp (and have it professionally set-up :-) )

My latest addition...MTDusa AG5 (34" scale/8.7 lbs) Maple Burl/Alder/Purple Heart (lacquered) fretboard/19mm/DM SR2000 (light) strings. Fantastic bass!!!

I use the SR2000 strings on my SSII. Mediums. They are my favorite and last FOREVER.

Oh man, that's beautiful! I played an AG5 at The Perfect Bass a few weeks ago. My first time playing a US MTD, but I totally get the hype around them.

It's an extremely comfortable bass to play...I'd say a medium-size body. That said, it obviously doesn't possess the Warwick growl...but, it has an AWESOME piano-like b-string, which I also really desired.

Unfortunately, I'm Wick-less (bass-wise) atm, given my body demands a sub 10 lb (preferably sub 9 lb) axe, and my preference for 18-19mm string spacing. I'd like to also have an SSI (like you) someday...probably have to go the CS route though, to get the specs I want ($$$$:()...

The SR2000s (Light .44-.125) are quickly becoming my favorite string, too...really like the feel/tension. Glad to hear they last a long time!
