Show Us Your Non- Warwick Bass Then!

Here's my non warwick picture. Oh and that's not me but a gentleman many of you will recognize. I thought it was somehow curious to see him playing an Alembic (which he might still own, being a serious collector with its graphite neck).

Here's a pair of (old) photos of my gear :

Sooo, what have we got here ? Nothing too fancy :
Washburn Bantam Doubleneck fretted neck strung Piccolo), Danelectro Longhorn (currently loaned to my Brother), Regal Acoustic with resonator (Piccolo Strings) (crappy and impossible to intonate, but sounds incredibly cool, Olympia Electroacoustic bass strung Piccolo, Fender Jazz Bass Marcus Miller (sold in order to buy a Dolphin Pro2), Spector NS2A (Korean) with Bartolini's my main bass currently under Surgery to add à Tremolo), hidden behind the amp is an Aria Sinsonido that I sold for the also to get the Dolphin, a Höfner Beatle Bass Ignition (Cheap Korean) Piccolo, and à Soundgear 6 strings that i sold in order to buy the next one, a SD Curlee Curbeck '78.
Amp-wise, I mainly use a '79 Sunn Mosfet 100W (2x15 combo :-) )I alos havbe a vietnamese Vox 25W with incorporated multieffect to fool around, and an SVT 400-t head that I will soon sell because I don't use it.
As for effects, for bass I only use à Wah Pedal (I have two Cry Baby, one for guitar and the white one for bass).

Pretty sweet for a such smallish and lightweighted "budget" instrument. I can achieve a real Sixties-vibey-Who-esque sound with the Sunn amplifier.
It's a MidScale (32") neck, fairly thin, and it ended up with Piccolo strings. I abandoned it a bit when I got the Höfner (also light, also small, also small neck, but a waaaaaay fatter tone). I lent it to my brother who plays guitar in a band and sometimes switches to bass when the bass player wants to play guitar.

Just received yesterday, a pretty rare (in this condition) 1978 SD Curlee Curbeck2 :

Awesome vintage sound thru my '79 Sunn BetaBass.

Impulse Buy!

I dis-assembled my Franken-P-Bass and picked up this proper American Standard. I've only had it a few days and still tweaking on the action. I'll be taking it out to a gig tonight.

I think it's kinda like having a hammer in your toolbox. Everyone should have one.

I picked it up through Sweetwater. Flawless transaction. A couple of the pics were taken before they shipped it. First thing I did was put on a set of labella flat-wounds. Totally opposite side of the sound spectrum from the Thumb, as you probably know. ;)

The "Alembic-like" is nice, do you have more details ?
And the Harlot...

Oh no, a Scottish boutique bass builder I didn't know about, GAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

´nother Esp Ltd: my TA-200! Bolt on, basswood, completely passive, low output. Nothing special so far. Only the shape and the inlays are unique. But equipped with good BEAD-strings the bass can offer the heavy sounds which the look suggests. Tremendous B! All strings working on the same level. Perfect balance, 24 frets easily accessible, not one problem with it in the last 8 years. Only one sound possible, but that fits!

Yes! Nice pic Marco. You're just missing your Thumb. :-)

Nice collection. But they're not in the order of the signature. :-)
