Nice looking, but I can't imagine it has the typical Thumb sound, looking at its PU placement and swamp ash body.
 
Great bass but I would have seen a mahogany body with the T-Bird like pickups ! :)

You want the "normal Thumb sound"?, well, get a normal Thumb. This is something special, is not that hard to understand. 8:

Don´t agree. Not all special things in our world are hard to understand, maybe only not available to everyone, or not to everyone´s taste.

Anyway, I don´t want to get too deep into it, it´s only a bass, not a Nietche´s book. :lol:

Hi thumbers,
I use a 97' NT4, tuned BEAD, Warwick Strings 60-130,which were mount by a luthier, and bass justed by my luthier.
My B is way too loud (even when i played EADG 45-105), i downed the pickups at B position to full, cut basses but others lacks bass, and i can't figure how to make it sound at the same volume as the others... maybe playin' with a 60-135? any other clue?
 
Be sure you set up the bridge using the "official" Warwick procedure (so the strings follow the radius of the fretboard). That way, once you've set up the pus' height, you shouldn't have any volume issue. :)
 
Thank you guys for your replies.
I went to my luhtier, took a look at the video, and infortunately after a little tuning, there's still the volume issue.
So, my luthier and me had an idea : put a little velcro wrap-round the B string, so it touches the fretboard at the 26th fret a little, and work as an attenuator.
Result : a little bit less sustain, but less, less volume!!!!And now i can use my EQ correctly and everyhting's alright and volume on each string are more equal.

Hi guys !!
I just come back from a music shop around home that havea couple of warwicks in Stock and I have tried a 4 string thumbs BO with bubinga body (New stock in the shop)... What a nice punchy sound !!! htere was other wicks like Pros thumb, pro-Trujillo, pro p-nut, pro zender, pro fortress etc... but none of them was as cool sounding as this bubinga thumb BO... Remind me my ex bubinga corvette active character, but with extra punch and a lighter weight... (I love bubinga, but it's so heavy !!)

Seriously that bass has a serious punch... Am I serious enough ??? That break jaws in one note !! lol

Did some of you tried that one ?? Your thought ??
 
Here´s one of my Thumbs, it's a 1986 Thumb JD model equiped with EMGs. It's fully original except (I think) the adjustable brass nut.
