According to my Thumb's Serial # Info it has a birthday in four days. 10/11/05. So happy birthday to my bass.:lol:

Love that awesome grain, beautiful bass indeed. And with the old brass bridge I suppose. If only the newer ones were still in brass...
 
Hi Guys,

New member here and proud to be a Thumb 4 string BO owner. Have been reading in to the warwick forums to know what's good for my babe ;o) Loving the sound but it was always a little out of reach for me ;) Besides this one I own a 1976 Fender Jazz Bass and a 2009 Fender Marcus Miller Signature.

Here are some pics of it. I am still waiting on a reply from the serialnumber guys at Warwick to know more about this beauty. I do know its a '97 bass (serial D037825-97 ). Anyone?

What information are you looking for specifically? By the way, I can even tell from the small pictures that she has a beautiful wenge neck...

SN D-037825-97 means april ´97 . If you want more info try sending an email to warwick with (bigger) pics and the serial number, so they could tell you all the details about your baby. :)

It looks like (and should be) ovangkol, which is very similar to bubinga...

*EDIT: As a '97 the specs will be a little different, but in case you hadn't found it go to:

To me it looks like a bubinga body with wenge neck...ovankol doesn't have that redish colour when it starts to age (at least mine doesn't, it looks like a dark yellowish brown). I could be wrong though :)

I've seen some crazy figuring on bubinga wood, too. It depends. The weird thing is that red-brown tint on that ovankol body...I wish mine looked like that :(
