Finally got around to finding a pic of my 5-string. Sadly it doesn't get a lot of use now that I'm in a band and find that the 5th string just gets in the way for the stuff we're playing.

EDIT: This is a pic from the ebay auction I won years ago. Don't have that case, it kinda looks like it's made for a P-bass body. Anyone know where I could find one like it to fit a Thumb?

If you're interested, I recently purchased a Thumb BO4 and I miss having the 5th string. Any chance for a trade? I live in Cali.

That's a nice offer man, but I think I'd like to keep it. One because I never know if/when I'll need the fifth string, and Two because it was my very first Warwick and the first bass I ever bought that I truly loved. I'll probably keep it til the day I die. My four-string solution for now is a pair of RB Fortresses while I look for a vintage German-made one.
 
Got my first Warwick this week: a 1988 Thumb NT. I've been jonesing for a Thumb for about 12 years and I finally decided to go for it. I gotta say, I love it!! I love the sound, the playability, the feel of the neck. It's everything I hoped it would be.
Mine has stock EMGs The lettering is worn off so it's hard to tell.

You're a good man to have on board & will no doubt, be a wealth of info.

Good question mate. I just realized my 1987 Thumb does not have the Push-Pull Volume Pot. So it's only active, I can't bypass the preamp (which is not very important that being said).

At that time we didn't had push - pull pots, so this is normal. It looks like MEC to me :-)
 
Yes, but we used the MEC electronics before the pickups. In 1984 we made BEC II - a 2 Way onboard EQ made by Warwick/ Hansal - that will become MEC.
