Hi Techjunky, you are gonna love the thumb, i had one exactly like it, sold it and now do regret not having it anymore, they are unique looks- and soundwise. They are Tone Monsters!

@David, looking at your bass i would say it is an older Thumb, probably build around 1990 is that correct?

Mate, your Thumb has an amazing grain. I'm a sucker for Bubinga like this, which has those big "clear" and "dark" brown stripes across the body.

So what is the story with the pick up positions on the Thumbs? I have the two tilted j's close to the bridge on 5 string BO. there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of difference in the tonal properties. Am I crazy on what?
