After 10 000 you can split in two. You keep the old and wise Greg The Ubermoderator, and you come back with a newbie, Kyle Style clone. Then you ban the clone, etc.
 
I'm in love with these dark purple stripes... can't wait to here her growl when the shipment arrives... does anyone name their bass?

Has anyone had the Pleasure of playing the Painted Blue '87 Thumb NT that RabidWolverine has posted? I believe it was previously owned by Davec, and Atari / Wolfman, and has been around these forums for a while. I'm somewhat interested in this bass, but I'm also a bit hesitant for a few reasons.

I played a Thumb for the first time today and was very impressed. It's a 2000 5 string BO in very good condition. No case whatsoever and the store is asking 1299.00 USD. I'm very tempted. Question: Since I did not have time to try a strap with it, how big an issue is the neck heavy thing I've read here at the forum? I used to have a Gibson Firebird Reverse guitar that was neck heavy and I did not like that. It's pretty much a make or break issue with me.

Then I strongly suggest you play it with a strap James.
The Thumb's balance doesnt bother some,but it sounds like it might well bother you,from what you've said.
Better safe than sorry dude.
 
I'll do that soon-- I hope it's not insurmountable. I do have an extra-wide strap I'll bring with me from home this time around. What woods were the 2000 BO's made of?
 
Thanks Greg. Now I have a hardball question: is wood delamination a rare issue with Thumbs? I read some Harmony Central reviews where one owner spoke of wood problems like with this Thumb on ebay.
