Yeah, the previous owner had it locked away for 6 years. I'm guess that this thing hasn't been gigged.

I can't understand why someone wouldn't want to play this thing. It's beautiful!
 
I've been checking out a '91 Thumb fretless NT 5 and am wondering about the color of the headstock. Is the dusky coloration natural or do you think it has been tampered with?

I think it's dusty... Are you planning on making another edition to your Warwick Collection, Ecto? I think I've seen this one... does it look like it has 2 Band EQ and Bartolini pups?
 
Well maybe. It has the Barts but I don't know if it has 2 band eq. I know that newer NT models have 3 band eq's.
 
It's the same composite fibre headstock guys,but with age it can become quite faded,or a previous owner has cleaned it with something undesirable.
 
Someone just bought it at the buy now price for 1275.00. What caught my eye was the 990.00 starting price. Oh well, now I can rest easy without worrying about eating Ramen noodles and bin diving for my dinner for the next month, lol. But for the record my FGAS (future gear acquisition syndrome) is a Thumb NT 5 fretless.

I don't know what it's all about but I've kinda always hated Thumb for its looks. But the last two weeks I've started to love the curvy, elegant look of it and it got even worse. A major Thumb GAS has started to build up inside me :D That aggressive, growly sound would be perfect for my tonal needs. BO is usually made of ovangkol but there seems to be some versions made of ash. How does ash sound with Thumb's 5-string pickup configuration?
 
I don't know of any versions made of ash, unless they were some limited edition. The ones I know of are as follows- Current bolt on models have ovankgol bodies and necks. Current NT models have bubinga bodies and ovangkol necks. Late 90's and earlier models had wenge necks as far as I know.
 
As far as Thumb GAS in my case, it ocurred after I picked one up and played it a month ago.

Can anyone tell me what number of alen key is for the neck for my thumb bo 5 year 99?
