Its a handmade by antonis, a greek constractor,desinted by me. And here is one bass that i've made of my one. You like it?

the body and the neck are walnut,and the fretboard is teak.at that time 6years ago,i didnt have money to by a real 6string bass.so i bot any woods i could found,about 80 euros,and some tools missing,and after asking some things my friend[the one made the ather 6string bass antonis]imade it.itsounds prety well for first try. and here is another bass that ive made with the rest woods of that bass.

Hello! I was wondering if some of you who have a Thumb Bo and a Thumb NT telling your opinions on how they sound different? I have a Thumb BO that I think is the greatest sounding bass I have ever owned. I am curious how my bass's big brother sounds different. Thanks!

I have never heard a bolt-on but I sure as hell love the sound of the NT. We'd have to A/B test them sometime.

But then there's different versions of both. Mine has MEC hardware and a two way EQ.

I was thinking of getting a Thumb 5er NT fretless. Anyone has any impression about this instrument?

I got a 4 and a 6 string Thumbs NT fretless.
They're both beautiful instrument. The 4 string (with MEC PUs) is a real axe, light and easy to play instrument. I played it for years in different kind of music (pop, rock, funky) and it never disappontend me.
The 6 string (with Bartolini soapbar PUs) is another story. I'm not a 6 string player really, but when I saw it I had to get it.
Great bass with incredible tone, but it's really HEAVY. I player it several times in rehearsals and after a while I had to take a seat.
Anyway, the neck is still playable regardless of the strings number. Low action and long sustain.
I never played a 5 string fretless, but I think it could be a good compromise between the 4 string weight and the 6 string big sound.

Grazie Thanks for your help, I think I'll give it a try. The 6er wouldn't be a big problem in terms of playability, but its weight...gosh, 5,3 Kg is far too much for those long, STANDING sessions. The 5er is almost the same weight as my 'Vette $$ BO 5er, and that's cool (thanks to a brand new Comfort Strapp).

Is it just me, or are the bodies of the BO thumbs a little longer than that of an NT?
