Yeah! That's why I covered the logo with black vinyl anyway. I didn't want that gold standing out amongst all that nice dark wood and black hardware.

This bass was first named JD bass from a bassist named John Davies. Later the name was changed in "Thumb Bass" It was the mid of the 80's, everybody was crazy about the slap technique And it does looks like a thumb really.

There's something weird about that bass... is it a broadneck?
The body looks incredibly small.

It's not a broadneck, The early bolt on neck thumbs had much smaller bodies made from walnut with wenge necks, this one is the only sixer that i've ever seen apart from a picture in a 1994 brochure

Yup, I got this from Greg. I've bought a number of things from him through Rocket Music and he's a top-notch guy to do business with, so I was pretty happy when the stars aligned for this one. It should be in my hands on Monday... oughta be sick through my GBE-1200/Uber 410. That rig *loves* my Corvettes
Those are Barden pups and he did have a Pope pre in it, but switched it to an Audere 4-band w/ z-switch. After hearing some clips I was actually pretty impressed with the functionality of the switch... a lot of that stuff strikes me as gimmicky.
