Wow! Thanks, Florin! It was so simple and obvious yet I just couldn't figure it out for myself.
The irony is that I don't want anything gold or "flashy" on my bass so I have covered the logo with a black vinyl sticker. However, the logo is still visible because it is raised. With everything else on the instrument being brown and black I thought this stood out too much so I covered it and now my Thumb is smoother than ever. Of course, the nice "W" in the headstock remains in all its glory.

Unfortunately we don't modify existing Warwicks.

I think you either have a lefty truss rod cover or accidently fitted it upside down.
If you did that,ya gotta unscrew the entire cover to remove the snap on insert.;)

That one looks the same as the Entwisle Thumb 5.The pickup angle is really steep.
 
If it's JE's old bass that was auctioned after his death,it'll be worth alot more than 17 euros.That"s if it has a certificate of authenticity.I'd snap it up in a heart beat if i could.

Nah, man! All the Thumbs have upside down logo on the trussrod cover. According to Florin, which makes sense, the logo is like that so that the player reads it while holding the bass, not the people watching you.

LOL...Ok, then. Well, why do so many Thumbs that I've seen have the upside down logo on the trussrod cover? Also, when I take mine off and try to place it the other way, it does not fit. It just falls out if you tilt the bass.

None of the thumbs I've seen have an upside down cover.All Warwicks have their covers reading the same way.
I once snapped mine back in upside down on my Thumb,it clicked into place,then would'nt come off.I had to unscrew the entire cover piece.

As I search for pictures, I see that you are correct. But I have seen many with the upside down logo. WTF? People are screwing with my head. LOL...
