=The Warwick Thumb Club=

My NT5 has arrived and it is friggin' sweet. I figured that I would enjoy the sound of the bubinga more than the ovangkol of my BO4 and it appears that I was correct. The swapped electronics give it a fatter, thicker sound than a normal Thumb that I'm really digging, but it has lost ZERO growl or signature Thumb tone. This is one angry bass that just begs to be slapped... I dig it!

My Thumb

I have prevaricated around the issue of buying a Warwick for years, until this year I finally took the plunge and decided to get rid of my main bass (a Status Graphite Matrix Series I) to buy a Warwick Thumb. It's a 1999 model, and it is simply wonderful. Perhaps next year I will have some Bartolini pickups and a Bart preamp installed, but for now, I'm just enjoying having a bass that feels like it fits like a glove!







It looks a little light in some of these pictures due to the flash and the ambient light, picture shows it off most clearly, it's so lustrous and dark. It sounds incredible too, growling away without effort. It's had a real fusion workout since I got it covering RUSH and Weather Report songs, and it has performs wonderfully!

Finally after four months waiting, my Thumb BO arrived, so I would like to join this club!

Thanks guys for those nice comments! I never decided to establish a candy bar, but looking those now, yes that's how they look like :eek:

I had my doubts about Thumbs, before ordering one, cause the ones whom have own one is been advertising those so much... and I was thinking, too much. Now I truly understand why! That Streamer LX made me say wow and Thumb made me say WOWOWOWOWOW after first band session ;) Presence of that bass is something what cannot be said by words....

Yea the presence of these basses are amazing. To much for my measly head and cabinet, those pickups kill. i cant get loud without my thumb destroying my crappy hartke cabinet.
 
did they changed the pick up postitions on the metallic black thumb? i mean are thumbs from 2009 build with a differend position then they had b4?
