=The Warwick Thumb Club=

Well you look through this thread, and there are some stunning Thumb's, Vintage, Custom Jobs etc, and in the bigger picture of things my Thumb is not a special one, but it is the finest instrument I have ever owned. Its not every day you get an instrument that actually inspires you.

The last time I experienced that was when I bought my corvette back in 1999. I tried a Thumb that day as well and was stunned by it but being a poor Uni student it was way out of my price range, so I had a choice of a Streamer, a Fortress or the Corvette and the Corvette one the day. After playing nothing but Fenders for 10 years that bass inspired me and pretty much got me my music degree. Since then many nice bass's have come and gone, several Overwaters, a Stingray a couple of Spector's, but nothing ever replaced the Corvette as my main bass until the other week.

The Thumb is unique instrument and even in that last week has made me a better player, the clarity of the thing has made me really tidy up my playing, its made me work on my intonation and articulation the whole instrument allows you to be so expressive. So I would say that every Thumb is a special bass, and mine may not be special compared to other Thumbs, but I bloody love it, but what I really need now is more of them...lol

I guess I can officially apply for membership. I picked this bad boy up almost two weeks ago (just 14 hours shy) and it's a monster. I still have not actually played it plugged in, since I'm working on the road and ampless in Los Angeles. I can tell from the felt resonance in the neck and body that it's gonna KILL. It's a '97, is in PERFECT condition and I'm the 2nd owner. Steal of a price, too. What a blessing. Can't wait to sneak it back home and hope it goes unnoticed. [emoji23][emoji23]

Here is the first NT5 Thumb I owned. It was a '98 one. I sold it in order to try some other high end basses:
