Nice Thumb! I like the black beauties on my fretless too! Someday I what a Thumb 5 BO fretless to match my fretted.

I put nylon wrapped black strings on my fretless thumb. It is actually like butter ha ha . Sounds really nice mellow tone.

Here's a pic of the two of mine, freshly cleaned and waxed. Left is the '93 BO5, low low serial (000004). 2 pc french walnut body/wenge neck/wenge fretboard. Supposed to have black hardware but somewhere along the line it changed to chrome. Right is the 1997 BO5 lined fretless. Walnut body/wenge neck/ebony fretboard.

Quick question for you. Do you notice a difference in tone between the plain JAN and the brass JAN? I'm trying to decide whether I'm goin to buy a brass one from Thomann or just source the normal JAN3 from here since my JAN2 has the usual broken post.
