That is funny Schlo... I think it adds to the charm of Warwick. Like the guy could have just phoned HP or walked down the hall and asked...but instead said..."eh...I'll just put down unknown...no one will notice, it's only our LTD this year...". :lol: :D :P

You misunderstood, they probably use a software where you can only select what is in the data base. Lacewood was not in the list.
Probably nobody was able to add a wood type when the basses needed to be shipped so ...

Ha-ha... Nice :) Oh I understand... I still think it's funny that they put down unknown on 300 LTD's that year, and they didn't simply walk down the hallway and ask someone who knew what wood the 25th anniversary bass was made from, before they had to be shipped ;)

Come on Schlo...you gotta admit that is a little funny for an LTD, because Warwick uses exotic woods all the time :)

But this is why I love Warwick so much.... They are a little different :) They have that famous German precision with the basses and a state of the art advanced manufacturing facility...but are not so precise with everything else. Hahha

I hope you understand this is not a complaint, but a funny observation.

Hi all, I know I have not been active lately, lots of family stuff going on. Here is a picture of my CS thumb and my entry card to the thumb club :)

Can I Join the Club?
Here is my 1996 Thumb BO 6, the Body is made of Bubinga, Neck and Fingerboard is Wege.
It's got Basslines active PUs and active MEC 2-Band Electronic.
I think 1996 used to be the only year were Warwick made the Thumb BO out of Bubinga / Wenge, but
since 2014 (I guess) if you order a custom shop Thumb BO they will make it out of Bubinga /Wege too.
The Curved body is very comfortable, I think the new ones does have a flat body (at least the Pro Series).
I think about selling or trading it, but idk. its kind of a feeler.

Beauty Thumb Dom!! Officially welcome to the Club!

I know the lower horn bolts are always closer to each other than the top....but I don't think I've ever seen a single bolt so far over to one side before. There aren't a lot of pictures of 1996 6 string BO's online. I couldn't find another example with a bolt pattern like yours. Interesting :)

EDIT:

Just found a '96 lefty 4 that has a similar bolt pattern.

From what I could tell, in '97 the top bolt was moved more inline with the lower bolt. And it also reminds me that '96 was one of the transition years for the compartment cover :)

Did anyone try the emg 45PX (or 40PX) set on a Thumb with soapbars?
I am wondering how this sounds, the coils are reversed in comparison with the traditional fender P style pickups, so the coil for the lower strings is placed towards the bridge.

coils just like the Mec soap bars:)
 
Are the MEC soapbars P-style split coils?? Idk, I got baselines PUs.
