Some days I just look back and miss this 1988 Thumb. I did a partial restore on it and it was just an incredible bass.

Here's my Army of 3 Thumbs. I have a CS 1997 Lined Fretless BO with the "Darker" finish, Wenge Neck, and JAN-I. In the Middle I have a 1999 BO BN. Last, but Not Least, I have a 1997 NT. It's pretty hard to put down! I hope you enjoy them.

Howdy Thumb lovers!! It's been 7 years since I showed off my 2006 fretless Thumb NT. She's full of mojo from Mr. Bruce. These pics are from the day I got it in June 2008. Jack's signature has worn off in the middle from my playing...but it's still in mint condition. I often just pick it up to smell it...stare at one part of it. A true work of art that happens to be a musical instrument

Yes! After looong long hunt it's finally here. And i'm loving it. The only thing it needs is a ramp (in progress) and some better balancing (also in progress). LOVE the sound. Now to get the 2008 LTD again (why did i sell it, whyyyyyyyyyy) and i'm set.

Could anyone help my price this poor bass ?
Knowing that there are two bridge saddle broken, and that the electronics are apparently dead, the bass is mute. Which is no problem for me as I have a 3-band Seymour Duncan and another "home made" preamp on hands. And also, I love broadnecks, and Bartolinis, so basically despite the FrankenWork, I like the bass. But I think the 790€ are way too high given the state.
I was thinking to offer 650, but maybe I'm too cheap ?

Do I still want it ?

Woods seems to be in good shape.
Do I stil REALLY, REALLY want it ?
Well... now that I realized that broadnecks are only 47mm wide at nut... not so much (Very happy with my Squier and the 51mm
But without the knobs, with the preamp that might need to be changed... And the wiring that I will DEFINITELY change, I guess a first offer at 600€ is not *that* bad.
But far from the 790 the seller wants.
I know that the add of the 3rd p'up is an issue, although being a P-Bass guy and liking Barts, it's ok.
Anyone has an idea/thought ?

When I look at this Thumb....thoughts escape me.
Technically 4 pups, right?
For some reason, the one thing I think about with the addition of those new control posts & pups...would be the stability of the wood. That added neck pup is so close to the original neck pup...very thin strip of wood between. Also, the added knob & switch between the originals, is very close to the other post holes. Again, very thin piece of wood between....and I'd fear cracks may form from hole to hole.
Since it's been around a while and the mods look to be old (do you know when it was modded?)...cracks may not be a concern...unless the climate where it currently lives is vastly different to where you live in France.
Just my thoughts

I don't know why ( ha I do, its cheap) but I also have a soft spot for this ugly duckling
Its a shame the P pickup wasn't fitted a la Warwick style and reversed, and as the pickup rout is quite clean looking why make such an ear of control layout.
