Remove the split-pu and the senseless knobs, cover it with a black chrome pickguard.
 
I guess I'll have to try and see it it suits me.
I thought about the pickguard. Maybe. Maybe not.
 
Another thought would be to Remove the P-Pup, fill with wood/glue/filler, and refinish with a Gloss color. Adding a Bart pre and "Standard" controls goes without saying. Probably another EU400 though...
 
Or to remove the middle Bart, and do this refin.
Really, I have to have this one in my hands to make a decision.
I played my Squier JazzBass deluxe Active V yesterday an as I'm totally satisfied with it, maybe I can spare the expense of this Thumb. Plus the seller ain't exactly avid to sell it.
 
I think there's room for adding a J pickup at neck position. Let's turn this from great into awesome!

Well I thought about it, but I wouldn't be able to slap on it. Or maybe if I cut a bit in the fingerboard...

Count me in! i love my warwick thumb. i had a BO 5 string for ages but i the NT is my dream bass. I upgraded mine with some Nordstrand Nj5 pups and a Darkglass Tonecapsule preamp. The best sounding bass i have every played :)

Say hello to my little new friend... A "brand new" 2007 LTD Flamin' Blonde. Warwick's unofficial, official 25th anniversary bass.

I posted some of these same pics in the "show us your bass" thread, but thought I'd officially put "Lacie" in the Club.

No joke, this was NOS and obviously sitting for 8 years. I don't think it was waxed once in that time. Which is a little scary. Frets were oxidized and rusty looking. Strings were the color of lead. Everything seems fine though. Neck is straight as an arrow with the perfect small amount of upbow. Action and intonation are perfect. Truss rod turns totally smoothly. She sounds amazing. Plays like a dream. Buttery. Ebony. Bliss.

She sucked up wax like there was no tomorrow. Frets got taped up and the steel wool treatment. Ebony got two healthy doses of Nomad F-One oil.

After a few hours of TLC...she came out looking absolutely brand spanking new like it was straight out of the Custom Shop. Sparkling.

Thought it was kind of funny that "unknown" was put down for bodywood on the info sheets from the factory. Guess they didn't know what they made :lol::D

Here's my 1989 Thumb. I was about to sell it because of a weak B-string and Dingwall GAS. But once i took all the hardware out, cleaned it, and put everything back together, It sounded like totally different bass. Maybe something was out of place but now the B is wonderful and even a thought of having to let go of it feels bad. I even had nightmares where the bass was no longer in its place. Well, its a keeper and now feast your eyes on its beatifully grained wood! I'll put up better pics when I can borrow a decent camera from a friend. It doesn't look quite as dark ILR. :roll:

I think the guy printing it needed to select from a list and lacewood was not on it then. :-)

That is funny Schlo... I think it adds to the charm of Warwick. Like the guy could have just phoned HP or walked down the hall and asked...but instead said..."eh...I'll just put down unknown...no one will notice, it's only our LTD this year...". :lol: :D :P
