=The Warwick Streamer Club=

4 pieces is normal I think : quilted maple is rather on the outside of the tree, and therefor we can have only thin boards of that. I gess they needed 2 boards to have the whole thickness of the bass

2 piece is normal,4 piece is due to the veneer separating the top from the back. The veneer might be the same wood as the neck veneers.Possibly walnut.I really like the top.

I got one off a dealer in the USA! By the way could you or anyone else fill me in on all this different Warwick neck profiles and woods? Mine is 2007 but is brand new. I believe ovangkol neck with a wenge board and afzelia body.

07 SS2?
That's one heck of a good choice ya made there buddy.Even if I do say so myself;)
It'll be the current spec SS2,except for the U profile neck.If it's a 4 string it's gonna be very jazz bass feeling.You know the one,thin,fast,nice taper,the higher up,the flatter it gets,the lower ya get,the rounder & fuller.
In other words,it's jazz bassy, but loaded with all those thoroughbred Warwick goodies that make every other bass in it's class pale by comparison.
Dont for get them pics,k?

*edit.
The neck profiles are basically,
pre 98 C(slim) profile.
98 to 2009/2010,U(fat) profile,
post 2009/2010,C(slim) profile.
post 2010 extra slim became a custom shop option.

Just picked up the bass and its great! The strings need replacing though... Any suggestions on what works best? I do like the thumping sound so I was thinking about flats? Or should I get some nickel round wounds?Any thoughts anyone?

I just put on some flatwounds on my SS2 and got the bass setup by Tyler at the Warwick shop in Manhattan and it KILLS!

Hey guys!
May I join? A `91 SS II 5er, finally the sound I always wanted... And by the way, the first few (spooky :x ) tones I ever played were on a SS I (the old with cherry wings). Oh, it`s shinig because of the lemon oil I just applied, tomorrow she will be waxed up.

Yeah, she`s a real beauty!
Gotta figure out a few details `bout the 2-Band EQ... if you turn down the treble, it`s like boosting the mids. Same as you turn up the bass, it`s not boosting the deepest frequencies as 20-40 Hz like with many 2-bands, it`s a nice boost around 60 Hz that also touches the punch around 100-120 Hz und also brings up some growly mids. I like it ;)
If you open the electronics compartment, you see the EQ-modul (black with white sealing compund) with a control dial, which seems to control the level boost/decrease when turned to active. Anybody some infos? The pups are MEC, without any colour marking, though the MEC logo is engraved.

Hi, The logo color is gone, but I am sure it as gold :-)

About the pre - yes, it is nice :-)

It works at 100hz for lows, and 2500 for highs !

But I'd use it bypassed anyway....

Really beautiful bass!

Hi all, been playing a Rockbass Corvette for a few years now but I've scraped together enough cash for a s/h '98 Streamer Pro-M! Finally got myself a real Warwick after years of wishing!
Pics when my computer stops crashing on Photobucket.
