Ahhhh,

the name is as intriguing as the bass. Sweeeeet. Yeah, you can hear pretty much every flaw caused by the player, but this will only make you a better player in the end. It's pretty funny though, to name a 6 string Thumb "anchor". :lol:
 
I have a knack for doing that :P And now you come to mention the 'anchor' connection, the name seems somewhat apt! :)

And that grain looks very well matched. Sometimes that's rare in a Warwick. Very nice!

The other night Dragosh and I had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting one another and to take some nice pictures for the Thumb Club.
We had a gig at a local club, as opening acts for our friends Guerrillas
Dragosh and his band rocked the joint, I must say !

Hopefully this is just the first of many Thumb Club Member Meetings !

I was struggling with the weight, frickin' heavy beauties

aside from the obvious neck and fretboard wood differences we found several others.
First off - the body on the older thumb is smaller, more rounded, the upper horn is flatter and the back is slightly thinner. The headstock is also smaller on the '96 and the neck is bulkier, thicker.
The '96 thumb is heavier , which is kinda weird 'cuz I would've guessed that it would be lighter because of the smaller body - but the extra weight probably comes from the wenge neck and maybe the 18 V electronics.

Anyways, unfortunately we didn't have time to do an in-depth sound comparison - but we both conluded that both are amazing instruments.

Thumbs rule ;)
 
That's cool to see you guys meet up with your Thumb 6ers! They look so good together. And your conclusion was spot on: '96 or '08, "both are amazing instruments."

Amen to that!
 
The crowd at that gig must have wondered what was going on... TWO guys with Thumb 6ers! The fact that Thumb club members are actually meeting and doing gigs together is really great!
