The Dirty Blonde is a slap monster! Mine is even defretted, yet it slaps and pops like a fretted beast and sounds like a traditional funk machine when using the P pup. Then when I feel like hearing some Bathiki Kumalo, I can do a nice "slap 'n slide!"

My Corvette Std. fretless just sounds like a muffled "thud" when I try to pop on it, as is the case with most fretless basses, but my de-fretted Dirty Blonde has a nice "snap" to it that gives it an almost fretted ring. :D

No, I bought it used from The Bass Place and it had previously de-fretted by Richard Beck, a renowned local renowned luthier who once worked for Warmoth Guitars and hasserviced guitars for many famous players.

Richard is a hard guy to deal with. I was going to have him install my Kahler in my $$, but he cussed me out because I didn't have my bass with me when I asked for his pricing! :shock: I was just out on my route and stopped by to get a price and time figure. So much for customer service! :lol:

I still would have used his services because his work is primo, but he didn't take credit card, so I went to Bronson Guitarworks instead.

But the job he did on my Dirty Blonde is incredible! And I didn't have to deal with him since it was done before I bought the bass. :D

Two Q's...

1) whats the story on the two strap lock buttons on the butt of the bass. I have tried to strap locks on my strap but never thought of two of the strap lock buttons.

2) Can i see the back of the bass.

@funkybassplayer: 2 straplocks tocompensate the neckdive a bit. I like it up high on the body; the preowner had it hanging low "Ramones style " !!!

@Greg: it is the older 2-band eq... but is seems fine to me, the mids are very much present...

Very cool man. WHat stage show is that that you are playing in? Is your BO 4 34"scale? it almost lookes shorter in the pics

My Thumb 4 is indeed a 34" scale. I just happen to be a 'bigger' guy. I'm 6'2" 275 lbs. I have pictures of me and that bass that make it look like a toy.

After looking at these pictures I realize it may be time to lay off the Guiness and hit the gym more.

I don't think the guiness is going to be that much a=of a probelm compared to the pink tafeta you're wearing. lol Cool bass. I will definatly look yall up

I cut the fingers out of the gloves, but it was still a little weird.

I just wish they had taken some pictures of me playing the Thumb 6.
These were from early in the run.
