The fret material Warwick use does make a difference to the sound, so worth a thought for sure.

I think I need to learn how to take better pictures.
 
I'm listening to the rough mixes of our new album and... damn. Sounds really good - lots of growl through the GK setup I was using. I mean, it's always sounded great on our albums but this time I had full control of my whole setup.

What is the balance of the Blonde thumb like? Does the fact that the body is made from lighter wood affect it at all?

I find that they all balance fine. I have a decent wide strap so have never had dramas. It is a lot lighter then the other two by quite a lot so you can really throw it around. It sounds great for slapping with all the maple.

The Blonde balances quite alright in my opinion. (I have the four string version.) The body is light, but so is the neck :)

Speaking of balance, as I wrote in another thread, I have a feeling that my Korean PS Thumb 5 has the best balance of my three Thumbs, likely due to the relatively heavy body compared to the neck.
 
I am 48 years old, was in my first band at 12. Played my first Warwick a month ago, i put it in layaway and just brought it home last night. I having e a gig this weekend, so ill try to get some pictures up. Oh... its a 99 thumb nt. It sounds great by itself, cant wait to see how it sounds in the mix.... later!
 
I'll be joining the ranks of this club soon! Trading my SSI for a Thumb NT5, should hopefully have it sometime next week or early the following! I've never played a NT Thumb, so I'm quite excited. I figure it's worth trying since they always seem to catch my eye, and it'll either be amazing and I'll hang onto it, or if it's not what I'm expecting, I'll just move it along and keep searching for a SSII. Pics to come upon arrival!
 
It will feel a bit weird at the beginning, but when you get used to the sound and position you will have a hard time going back to "other basses" :-)

Exactly my experience! Now, every other bass feels weird!

First concert I had a hard time "finding" my bass sound in the mix. It sits elswewhere than "other basses" :-)
 
Showed up today! Just threw some new strings on it, and did a quick setup to drop the action. So far so good, but still need to tweak the setup to dial it in. Has an Aguilar obp3 preamp, which I've never used before, so that'll take some learning.

Balance is different than I'm used to, but not terrible. Bigger adjustment is the pickup location, and since I almost always anchor my thumb in the pickups, it just feels off to me being that far to the right. Easy enough to adjust to. Sounded good with the old strings, but can't wait to hear it with the new ones when I have a few minutes!
