=The Warwick Streamer Club=

Hey guys - not to sound like a squeaky wheel but roughly how much would my 1990 SS1 be worth. Its has the usual marks from being nearly 20 years old but plays great and sounds great and neck is straight as? Any guys in OZ that could give me a value in poor old AUD?!

I think a fair price would be $2000AU to $2500AU.
If you're desperate,maybe $1600AU to $1800AU.:((
If ya bung it on ebay, make sure you mention the current Aussie dollars exchange rate & be willing to ship overseas too.

ould someone please xplain all the hype around the Streamer bass?? No joking at all, I just want to know why they start at $1200 more than a corvette, and what do you get for the money??

Also, whats the difference between the Stage models and the Lx, asside from being neck through.

PLease be gentle. I own a corvette.

Isn't it strange the difference in values of various countries of an instrument which must have effectively had the same value when new where-ever it sold in the world. I know of two '91 SSI's for sale in the UK @ £600 / $1300 AUD which unfortunately have had no interest what-so-ever, so International sales to the UK in our present economic climate may not have loads of takers; whether the USA would be any better I don't know.

Saying that, there have been a couple of sales in the UK of 'nearly new' SSI's that have made the lower end of the prices that you quoted Greg.

Ultimately a bass is worth what someone will pay so stick it up for sale at Greg's top end value and then work down and see where it stops. ;)

Jimmy, there are a lot of topics covering this issue, just use the search...
The streamers have the curved body who is appealing for some people :-)
Also the pickups are closer to the bridge, giving a tighter, growlier sound than a corvette let's say.
For Streamer STage I vs Streamer Stage II vs Streamer LX, I will let you use the search frunction. You even have audio clips with those :-)

Hey guys - I'm not really interested in selling as I've just bought it. It has a few little issues but I got it fairly cheap, and the issues are fixable. I must admit I have tried nearly every other bass available in Australia and my dream to this date is my other beast - a 2006 60th Ann. Fender US Jazz 5 Deluxe with a maple board, and it is VERY different, however I have also owned a few Spectors and the Warwick craps all over them so I think I may spend the $ to fix her up and give it 6 months. I think the older Streamers should hold their price. If I ever sold it I think I would just buy another Fender J Deluxe, maybe with a Pau Ferro board or a Fender style instrument like a Sadowsky Modern or maybe even a Mike Lull but for now I really want to like the Warwick it smokes in comfort/sound stakes!

Well, I should be getting a Streamer Stage II 5 string to go along with my SSI 5 sometime next week. Can't wait to get it here!! I'll post pics of both of them once it gets here.

Thanks! I've wanted an SSII for years, but the timing has just never been right for me to pick one up. I finally got lucky, and a like-new '08 one popped up on Talkbass at the perfect time. Should be here on Thursday.:)

Congratulations on such an awesome bass!

You are a lucky man...the wood grain is amazing and the tone sounds fantastic!

So you went with an SS2 iuserneim, good choice.
I listened to the sound clips & it's very much like mine (2007 model).

ok greg, that makes you nearly as cool as me :)

thanks for the help greg & rehan, you helped me take my decision....

;-)

rehan, show us some pics of your streamers !

iuserneim - There are some photos I posted on page 9 of this thread but they don't do the basses justice. I am planning on taking some better pics and I will post them once I have them. In the meantime, here are a couple of pics of my '89 SSI.
