=The Warwick Streamer Club=

My new Streamer Stage 1

Bought from Sascha (Schlobodan). From Germany to Australia. High gloss black. 1990. Great shape - a few battle scars but plays incredibly straight out of the case. 9volt MEC pre with push pull volume for active/passive mode. Sounds incredible. JAN1. My introduction to Streamers was my LX custom, and thats great but the Stage 1 blows it away! I also own a Fender US Jazz Deluxe 5 from 2006, and I love that bass but I think I can honestly say that Warwick make the most perfect basses for me.
Hats off the Sascha as well - I hassled the crap out of him for info on the bass and for tracking info and he always answered my emails. Great guy and gave me a great deal. BTW I think he has still a few 4 string Streamers and a 5 string James Earl sig going for great prices - check 'em out!
Sorry about the pics - camera phone jobs!
Take care all.
Also threw in a shot of the LX. Great looking bass!

I like the positioning of your rig within your home.

:D

Really gorgeous bass there man, I've been eyeballing
Schlobodan's leftover's for awhile now.

I've been bitten by the Streamer bug, and there's only
one cure.... And it ain't more cowbell. ;)

Ha Ha - yeah kinda sux when we have visitors. Cant see the TV! Thanks for the kind words!
BTW can anyone shed any light on the 1990 Stage 1? I realize the FB is wenge but what of the body wings and neck. Were these guys still hand made? It has no volute and a brass JAN1, which I both prefer I think. Great throaty, punchy big bottom sound and feels like a tank. Plays like butter. Does it get any better?
Hmmmm - cant help ya with that Streamer GAS. There is only one solution.....

Well I always thought the SSI's were maple, body wings/neck. Not sure of the flame, however, it doesn't really matter with yours ;) From other posts on this forum, a 1990 SSI should have been handmade??

arachnobass,

Nice SSII!!! I was very close to trading my Thumb for that one.
CONGRATS

Hi there:-)

the bass is all maple / except for the fingerboard and the neck stripes.

probably no flame (I have seen a stripped one from that period and it looked rather unspectacular)

So I'd keep the finish under all circumstances:-))

cheers

and have fun

There's absolutely no shame trading a Thumb for a stage 2.
I highly reccomend it.

Haha, yeah I know.

I hardly play my Thumb, but when it came time, I just couldn't let go of it......

Greg speaks the truth
just don't say it to the thumb club, ;)
I think we are still out-numbered ... lol

Well, I'm still a member. That reminds me, I haven't posted a pic of my Thumb in there.

I know what you mean i was having second thoughts before i sent out my thumb, but when i got SSII it just felt like it's really worth it.

Oh I love streamers! Meroma, enjoy your LX. There is something about the LX that makes it unique. Very easy and fun to play. You get a huge sound only by touching it :-)

Thanks for the info guys. Did these models have the steel reinforced necks(1990 SS1)? Does anyone know what these guys would be worth in Australia. Im not looking at selling, mostly for replacement value. Mine plays great, has minimal player wear but has about 3 cracks that have appeared in the finish due I should assume to wood shrinkage/expansion but even these are hardly noticeable. Its in great nick for nearly 20 years old.

Greg, no offense ... but I think only the U shape neck has the steel rod reinforced neck, the older C shape neck has no steel reinforcement in the neck. Can somebody else chime in?

Yes, babebambi is right, we have introduced the steel bars in 96-97.

I meant that RB's have always had the reinforcment bars bro.
Nice save eh?;)
For Warwicks, the bars were orignially mild steel, then they tried graphite iirc, then stainless irrc, then back to mild steel.I'm probably wrong in what materials were used when, but I do remember they were changed a few times.
btw,No offence on my end.I dont know everything there is to know.Far from it,& it's always good to be put straight rather than carry on repeating incorrect information & looking like a twat.;)
