=The Warwick Streamer Club=

I'm pretty short of getting my hands on a '92 SS II. Any thought on quality and sound of these ones? I already have a '92 Thumb NT that I'm really in love with. That one just siffers from the typical crack in the neck where the headplate is (for me, doesn't matter fas I got the Thimb pretty cheap and knew in advance). How's it for the streamers?

Btw. does anyone know why the Thumb NT has 26 frets and the streamer the standard 24?

Pretty unusual for a SSII to have a headstock crack! Can be treated/fixed the same but they are not 'typical'.

Why do some Fenders have 20/21 frets? Warwick probably decided based upon where the body/neck joint was on the treble side and that was the deciding factor; hence Dolphin Pro can have 26 frets due to the upper access.

Ahh, body / neck joint makes sense. I was just thinking that both necks (Thumb NT and SS II) are pretty much the same, both wenge laminated with bubinga (?), so I thought they might have the same frets ;)

Okay, so here we are. For a short time, I'm now double member in the Streamer Club, but the Ltd. will leave soon. Pretty happy with the Stage 2 now, sounds amazing at home already. Looking forward to the first rehearsal with her :)

I'd hazard a guess around 88; could be as early as 87 or as late as 89. The serial number will be on the 'top' of the headstock (not the back/rear) but may well have lacquer filling it but with a torch and camera you can often find it.

Well, I am not sure If they ever put a serial on it

Maybe not, it's no big deal if it has or hasn't. What have the electronics been changed to?

EMG BTS I was told.

The guy that sold me the Streamer sent me another Electronics afterwards when it turned out that the original electronics got replaced some time ago. According to him thats from a 1988 Streamer. I am not that much of an expert. Says EMG on the circuit board and MEC on the back of the potis so I dont know if that is true ;)

the last 2 pictures most likely show the original electronics imho

Just curious if the reason why there's no serial is if there is a possibility it's been refinished 3rd party. Sanded, stained, glossed. Though that would be a pretty bonehead maneuver to sand off a serial. So hopefully not. It happens, but it's quite rare for their to be no serial on a Warwick, aside from some old painted ones. The headstock pic, it looks like you should be able to see a serial through that laquer. If it's already yours @DanTM , enjoy, it's a beauty!

That's the first active electronics (EMG?) that were buld in - from around 1984 until ?85-86 ish?
I have the same in my paddlehead 85/86 - and I like it a lot, and it doesn't have a serial either - the first owner bought it straight from the factory then.

Hello all, I picked up this bass without a complete understanding of exactly what it is. It's a Rockbass Streamer LX with a very strange electronic set... it's a 2011 glossy black and has the same active preamp with the gold-colored lettering MEC active pickups set that are in the German models. It also has the tuners that have "Germany" engraved. It has the Chinese type serial # so I'm almost sure it was made in China but has no origin marking at all. I'm guessing it had a "Crafted in China" sticker that was removed, but I don't know. The thing that throws me off is the active pickups and preamp that are in the high-end models, and I've never seen that on a Rockbass. I'm not thinking anyone actually installed this on a stock Rockbass. Does anybody have an explanation as to how and why this bass is equipped the way it is, and is it a Chinese model, or possibly Korean? Thanks!
