It's not just MEC, it's all brands.On a jazz pickup you play more 'on' the pickup so to speak. Also the pickup extends past the strings and split coils don't do that as much.

I just had to share my new streamer fretless, once owned by Stuart Zender!!

Got it from Bass Direct, I had just missed one a few days earlier, though I wasn't even sure I wanted a Warwick fretless, never even played one, I've been looking for quality fretless, tried plenty in shops but in UK hard to find decent stuff so I just bought blind and took a punt!!

This is pure class.... it sounds like a cello, it sings....Pomelle Bubinga body with wenge/bubinga neck and I think ebony fingerboard though not sure could it be wenge?

How would I find out the exact specs for this bass?

its got so much sustain.... my only issue is the neck seem quite 'fat' compared to my Fender (squire) neck and I've got small stuffy fingers, but early days...

glad i pulled the trigger but it wasn't cheap!!

I cant imagine wanting a car more than a bass. Cars are just there to move basses from home to rehearsal and from there to gigs!
