=The Warwick Streamer Club=

Got any sound clips with the EMG's? Which pre? Nice basses! I have a 2000 SS5 (wenge). It's my go-to.

The preamp in each of the basses is the Aguilar OBP-1.

You can click on the link below to MP3s of a couple of songs I recorded with a former band that I was in called Mojo Philter about six years ago. These were recorded with the EMG p/u Aguilar preamp set up coming direct out of a Demeter VTBP-201s preamp. "Falling Apart" is the 4-string and "Rhythm of the Tides" is the 5-string. Please keep in mind that these are compressed MP3 files so of course the sound quality is more squashed sounding than if you were listening to a CD...

Also linked below are a couple of songs by my current original band called WHASSUP. Both of these are the 5-string utilizing bass plug-ins from Apple Logic Pro software:

Here is the result of one of the longest, most irritating projects ever - Here's a custom 1992 Streamer Stage I with a Glockenklang 3-band preamp and custom Aero pickups.

Holy ♣♣♣♣. I think I just wet my pants. Those p'ups...

What hardy said!

What are those Aero's config?

Did that require extra routing?

Always interested to see electric changes - been looking at making some changes myself
Do you have a thread on this or the Delano's in the Fortress?

I don't have proper recording rigs for this, but perhaps I can get a cell phone recording soon.

This had SSII pickup routing - I was after a double-reverse P setup (like you see here), and thought getting Delanos with the double-reverse P in a TJ housing was an economical and simple way to get it going.

I ordered them from Delano, and they arrived the size of a 4-string pickup (i.e. 92mm wide), and completely ♣♣♣♣ing microphonic. Gently rubbing the pickups yielded unbearable noise. It would pick up every tap. Not only that, the magnetic pull was so uneven that the A-string sounded like it had it's own chorus pedal and was out of tune. What a disaster.

I then saw that Aero made proper 95mm TJs. They cost an arm and a leg, but it was either that, or junk the bass. They're the V5pd format and must be the only damn pickups on the planet like this. I needed to get my bass re-rerouted because the pickup corners were very hard.

I initially paired the Aeros with a John East preamp that promptly fell apart. I was getting great customer service until I verified which address to send my warranty claim to, then the lines went quiet. Another ♣♣♣♣ing disaster.

Therefore I just threw in a Glockenklang, and here we are. I thought I'd have an instrument that sounded like what I had in my head, but what I'm left with is 100% indelible Warwick tone. Not quite as clangy as the SSII can be, but it's definitely Warwick. The bass is just so resonant and vibrates nonstop I just had to finish this project. You can feel it vibrate through your entire body.

I bought my 2011 SE 5 string back from Jeff.

Also picked up this beautiful 2001 Stage II fretless 5 string. I think I've finally found THE fretless for me.

so jealous!!!!

I love the difference in body contours between older SSII's and newer ones, mine has the harder edges along the horns and a slight edge along the top bout. It makes them all unique. Maybe one day ill grab a 90's Streamer.

i think its the 30th anniversary signature mentioned in the signature as I can spot a JAN3 Brass on the bass and the serial is lasered it unlike the old one with the JAN 1 and the serial engraved in the top of the headstock.
