Black hardware dilemma solved: the damn bridge won't fit. The '80s route is smaller and more rounded at the edges.

@ schlobodan: are the '80s two-piece bridges machined from brass? The new bridge is quite a bit lighter partially due to a fairly large cavity routed beneath the base plate, but it could also be due to material. The price difference is also quite substantial in the Warwick webstore: roughly 50 EUR for the current standard issue bridge and roughly 290 EUR for the brass version. :O

So, anyone else interested in swapping out run-of-the-mill chrome or icky gold hardware? Four single pot knobs, Schaller BM4 tuners (2L + 2R), Schaller straplocks (full set), bridge & tailpiece, trussrod cover screws, Switchcraft barrel jack.

80ies parts are all brass

Brass 2 piece was standard until 93
even for vettes dolphin pro2 etc

Pricing on Warwick spare parts is completely wacko, but the 2 piece brass bridge pricing is an outrage tbh.

Just my opinion btw, maaaaan.

92, perfect condition, crazy price --> schlob cannot resist :)

What a catch! I still do not understand why the seller gave me his Thumb NT5 for 850,- EUR. Did your seller tell you how he determined the price?

Not really :)he bought it used from session for 1300. He was sort of apalogizing because it was sooooo heavy :)

At second thought there was a fraud ss2 at bassic for the same price maybe he saw this.
He is offering an Alien for 900 and I have a fretless Alien there for 900.
Good thing he did not check ebay finding the 4.5k crazy offer:))
Anyway :) sometimes one needs a little luck

It is very likely satin finish (burl tops are usually satin finished) --> no waxing required.
