Hey Streamers!

I'm on my way to my first Warwick Bass, a Streamer Stage I it shall be... Some sort of a Teenage's Dream coming through :D
I have something in sight: a Streamer Stage I, NT from 2006 and I would like to know whether you guys can inform me on that particular instrument? It is not close by so that would help me determine whether it is worth the trip to go and try it out...

Any pros/cons or known problems I should be aware of? Also very important to me is the neck "thickness": I am aiming for a comfortable neck ("thin") and I read here and there on the forum that Warwick moved back and forth from broad to thin necks on Streamers... Any idea what is to be expected on Stage I 2006 model?

Thanks a lot for your time... can wait to join the Club... :p

Hi Mas_Fina!
Be aware that thickness and width aren't the same dimension!
On my Streamer (2005 5 stringer Stage I), the neck is broad (big width, starting at 47mm at the nut), but not very thick (21mm at the 3rd fret, 25 at the 12th, just meassured).
I can assume that these dimensions would be the same on a 2006 Streamer, if it's a 5'er also!

Hi, this is my 2006 Streamer stage 1. Awesome bass very punchy & versatile.
It's pictured atop my wife's 116 y/o Rudolf Becker piano.

Wow. That's a LOT of nice woods.
The back of the neck is stunning.

After installing a new iron truss rod in my '91 Streamer Stage 1 plays like a charm. On closer inspection however, I find that the alignment of the strings relative to the fretboard is offset towards the G string. In other words, the 'slack' space on the fretboard is bigger on the B-string when compared to the slack space on the G-string. There seems to have been some filing done on the nut as well. As a picture says more than a thousand words, please see the pic below:

Anyone who confirm that this setup is the same on their 90's ST1? It doesn't hinder me in playing but I wonder whether the nut has been replaced in the past.

the nut is normally attached with a drop of superglue. Adjust - reglue and be happy ever after:-)

btw there seems to be the wrong screw for the B-String (should fit in nicely)

Think you should swap the B screw with the D screw.
But the most important: your bass seems really dangerous for you. Send it to me, I'll take care of the problem. And as I'm such a nice man, i'll make it for free!

Thanks for the offer. Please post full name and address here and it'll be on its way in no time at all :D

The '88 SSII has been gutted and awaits soft "sanding" with steel wool and Warwick wax, followed by rewaxing (if needed) and polishing. The stock gold hardware is headed for storage along with stock pickups and electronics. Mods to be installed:

- black hardware (Schaller BM4 tuners, bridge & tailpiece, Schaller straplocks, knobs, jack, pickup screws)
- pickups and electronics (still undecided)

The "up to date solution true to period correct philosophy" for the pickups and electronics would be an EMG JX set, ABCX active blend control and BTS two-band EQ running on a 24 V battery harness which fits in the stock 9 V battery compartment (2 x 12 V A23 batteries in wired in series). The JXs sounded badass in a '90 Thumb.

Any thoughts? I also have an Aguilar 4J-60 set which I might try just for sh*ts and giggles.

Whaaat? SS2 needs gold hw! Gooooooooold!!!!!

As much as I love the subtleness of black hardware, I felt like it took something away from the bass when I installed it on my 2000 SSII.

Kind of like buying a Ferrari and painting it beige.

Noice.

90's model? (no Schaller tuners but still got JAN1).
