Humbucker galore !

Here’s my latest acquisition :) This is a late 90s Peavey Cirrus BXP 4 string. All mahogany which makes it ridiculously light compared to my Thumb 4 fretless. Active with a 3 band EQ and quirky ass blend knob which I wouldn't wish on anyone (which Inwill change out) lol Very nice little slap bass which will let me work on my double-thumbing with a bit more forgiviving string spacing (19mm). All in all it is a nice neck-thru instrument and the only neck-thru I have at the moment.

So I’ve discovered something Im going to have to practice through; going from 35” fretted to 34” fretless is not so easy. My intonation over the past year has gotten decent. Play the Cirrus for an hour then immediately switch to the fretless and the intonation is out the window lol!! This is going to take some getting used to switching between what felt like a barely noticable switch in scale lengths.

Congrats! 90s Peavey basses are very cool.
Thanks Nacho,

It’s definitely a fun bass to play and the sound is pretty good. I may source the preamp from the US model though as there is a definite difference in the shaping of the sound between it and the BXP models but, beyond that, Im pretty happy with it.

This is also, by far the loudest solid body bass Ive played acoustically. It is ridiculously loud compared to any other bass I’ve ever played. That mahogany really transmits sound but, at the same time, I still feel adds to the sustain it has (which is also ridiculously long for the “bargain” Cirrus).

not quiet up to date picture from may this year, the warwicks take the lead over the MusicMans:

NBD!!!

Spent ages looking for a 5-string Fender P-bass in black with a black headstock... apparently that doesn't exist, at the very least I couldn't find one. Then I see this. What a beauty. And a flawless fit and finish. No set-up needed. Thank you HB, you've delivered again My Warwicks are still my main basses but this is seriously good.

Bought a black pick guard too but tbh the stock one is growing on me.
