Show Us Your Non- Warwick Bass Then!

I bought this 2EQ Fretless Stingray a couple of years back
Very nice instrument

I picked up this Pavel jazz bass a few weeks back. I wanted a "jazz" bass with 24 frets, and while I like my Fender p-bass, I didn't care much for the Fender jazz I had, and eventually sold it. There is a lot of controversy surrounding the builder, Pavel De La Fuente. An all too frequent tale with small, one man custom builders, of accepting deposits and never delivering completed guitars. Also, he has a reputation for, shall we say, mental health issues, which reportedly, sometimes affected his quality control. Anyway, I got this one used on Reverb, and it is awesome! Very good access to the higher frets and a neck that is slightly chunkier than a Fender jazz. It's in between a Fender p-bass and jazz neck. I like it.

Beautiful neck 🤗

EBMM Sterling bass 05/94 , that's the 2nd year
Wicked neck - slick & fast
Colour is cool, laquer quality is player (some companies you pay extra 🤣 )
Sounds good - electronic (switch) doesn't follow the published schemes
All together happy

WHat's the difference tonewise between the Sterling and the StingRay ?

Well, the Sterling has a cermanic magnet pickup vs Alnico for the Stinray, inducing a slightly more agressive and modern sound (more growly mids and sparkling high-end).
The Sterling also has three modes : parallel (like the Stingray) but also series (full ultra-agressive forward low-mids) and single coil (thinner, with more details).
And of course, the body shape is reduced and the neck much narrower (38mm nut, Jazz-Bass like).
