Thanks Jester!....yeah I've been wanting to do this for a little while now, so I finally just did it

So I stripped it all down, I numbered the wires before I cut them so I wouldn't get confused when I soldered them back. Then I used a orbital sander (to lazy to do it by hand) with 220 paper and took it down to bare wood. Being careful not to dig into the wood itself (I think it's Alder BTW)....didn't want any weird looking grooves when finished

I primed it twice with Black primer, sanded (by hand) after each coat then laid 2 coats of mate on top of that and 3 coats of clear. And re assembled....total man hours not including drying between coats was maybe 4+ hours.

Here's what interesting and I should have took pictures.

When I took out the pups they are spring loaded with counter sunk guides vs a piece of foam that is most common. And the mounting and adjustment screws are held in with brass insert nuts, vs screwed straight into the wood.

That's some pretty fine craftsmanship. They didn't do it the easy way........I was impressed
 
the travis makes a nice pair with the wal now.

Shipped the Infinette today. Did hurt to let it go, but actually there is a total number of basses for me: 10 + 2 acoustics. I already was at 18. Why 10? Because that is the number of basses which find a place on my wall. One comes - another has to go. Hard shit!!!
 
again.... so a certain 10string could stay in the family too. It could even visit Bavaria once and a while ;)

It´s Thuringia. Even closer than Bavaria. But after paying for the 10 string there will be no money left for vacations in the near future! :p
 
Actually the finish looks like worn golden. Checked the serial number - it´s chrome black!
