I love my ash Corvette 5, passive. The nicest bass I've ever owned, and my first Warwick. Not my last.
The pickups are the one weakness I can't get around. I like passive basses, and I already rewired mine for Vol/Vol/Tone with a push/pull series/parrellel option at the neck vol and a...
Pickups are not my area of expertise...
So I have my Jazzman and I loveeee it.
But the pickups are passive... and I don't like passive pickups.
The jazz pickup is pretty noisy and I feel like I want a cleaner/clearer tone.
My question is if there are any active alternatives for the...
I'm pretty sure that it's impossible to order white pickups, truss covers, or nut's but why not? They make wood covered pickups how hard would it be to make white one. Anyways... how would you go about making them white? What kind of paint would work and stay on well?
Ok, with great consideration and help from you forum guys I'm going to replace my passives in my Corvette Standard bubinga with active MEC J's (M60201) .
Do I need any extra electronics with the pickups? I have MEC 2-way active electronics on my bass (active electronics with passive pickup...
I've only just realised  that the pickups on my Thumb BO (2004 model) don't have MEC written them. I was assured when I bought it that it was all original. Does it just simply wear off?
I've been dealing with the people I bought it off for years and they've always been great with no...
Hello, everybody. We are trying to record demo at home. I need help.
I Can't find optimal height for pickups for Corvette $$ 5 str.
And I'am absolutly don't know how to record my bass (directly to soundcard or from combo, with preamp or in passive mode ........) to get the best results.
Helllo everyone I am new to this forum,
I have a infinity NT and I would like to change the pickups and pre because I am not happy with the sound of the current setup,

I'm really dissappointed with the MEC humbuckers in this bass. 4 string bolt on $$. I can't get a good slap tone. Has anyone ever swapped out the pickups and/or electronics. I bought this on Ebay based on reviews and I'm regretting it. I'd like to customize it to get a better slap tone...
See topic. I'm thinking about saving up for the custom Stage 1 with Stage 2 woods in the classifieds.
As with all Warwicks, most of the sound is in the woods. However, in the case of the Stage 2, I'd say the jazz-style pickups are a big part too, as well as the "hidden" NT construction. I...
Help, my '93 corvette proline 5 is starting to buzz a bit.
It has original MEC dynamic correction p/ups which i presume are passive, would a set of active p/ups solve the problem?
Any Thoughts guys? :?
Who makes them? I am looking into converting my SSI from active to passive. I just don't use the preamp and love the passive tone controls. Also, when I do get the pickups, how do I setup my knobs so its Volume/Balance/Tone/Tone?
Thanks.
Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about filling the gap between the humbuckers on my double buck.
My teacher told me that my right hand technique was hindering my playing, (the space between my index and middle fingers were parallel to my thumb) he told me to put my fingers kind of behind...
I've been on a punk rock lark, and I'm looking to rehab an old Ibanez P-Bass copy with a new pickup and wiring. I've been looking at Seymour Duncan SPB-3s ().
Any suggestions on passsive, high-output P-Bass pickups?
so i recorded all of my basses (i forgot i actually have quite a few). and i realized, my warwick doesn't sound very "organic." it sounds too mid rangey, like its the only frequency it produces, there is not buttom. so i was thinking bartolinis (high tone or deep tone?) any other pickups you...
Alright, I'm GASing like a house on fire for a Thumb BO 5. I heard Stroud's with the Jazz pickups. The bridge positioning sounds amazing
But... soapbars? In contrast to jazz pickups, how would you describe the sound? I'm looking for harsh, bright growlyness. Any help greatly appreciated :)
Here's the story:
I am new here so I will post pics later.
I just bought a 1998 6 string Thumb BO off of fleabay.
It has Seymour Duncan BassLines pickups in it.
Were those stock in 1998 or was it MEC?
I want this bass to sound as close as possible to my 2001 Thumb 4.
Should I just...
Hey chaps !
I was wondering what were the tonal differences between the 4 available MM-type pickups.
The "classic" MEC:
The Bartolini:
The Seymour Duncan Basslines:
The EMG:
How do they sound on Warwick basses, especially in a $$...
