Hay from Slowenia! I owned Warwick Streamer Stage1,.1986 with Seymour Duncan pickups,..Hawe one question.: Was SeymourD pickups original on Warwick Streamer? have asked friend,.and his answer ist NO,.. Please for help! Thanks! Robert

"EMG P-J active pickups fitted as standard. Seymour Duncan, Bartolini and OBL versiions optionally available"

So the could be original

1986 was the first year for MEC,so I'd say that these SD pickups were fitted as standard.

The SD pup model looks correct for that era (do they still retail that model with the little switches on the end?) and Warwicks would have come supplied with any one of a range of pups inc SD so there should be no reason to doubt they were original. The only caveat would be that the pups on your bass look pretty mint condition, if the rest of the bass bears lots of wear and signs of use I'd compare the condition of the pups to the rest of the bass to help you decide (oh and a quick peek at the soldering :lol: ).

I saw a stage 1 with just those & not the Seymour Duncan lettering once or twice.

The early model SD pups had 3 mini rocker switches that changed the onboard preamp EQ of that pup, it looks like lettering but is in fact switches.

MEC pickups came later, in 1990.
Very few were alreaduìy installed in 1989.

On the other hand, MEC electronics are as old Warwick basses

Sorry.I confused pickups with electronics.
This is why I no longer walk down the street where the drag queens work.

I think seymour duncan discontinued those pickups,I haven't seen them for sale in a long time.
