I think it only looks longer because on the NT models the horns go all the way to the body. On the BO models the horns have a small bump right before the body to make room for the bolts on the back side of the neck.

Nope, it's just the lousy mobile cam making an "fisheye" effect on the picture. The upper horn (dildo) is according to spec... I hope :D

That side of my bass has been posted before. And here's another one showing the power plant running the damn thing.... :-)

3 x 9V batteries for the LEDs and 1 for the rest of the electronics.

When I got the bass I forgot to turn the LEDs off over night once. They were barely burning the next morning (6-7 hours).

The new set of batteries is still burning after 6 months, with approximately 3 hours of effective usage.

Nice thumb btw man. I think the thumb 6-string models is the nicest lookin' 6-stringers Warwick makes. Have yet to try one :(

Nice Thumb BO yuujin and I don't even notice the mess because that Thumb draws all the attention. Nice dark grain. Sweet! :D
 
hey guys my friend is passing me his old MEC golds.
will i be able to retrofit the MECs in?
is the preamp the same?
 
So I traded my NT5 for trujo777's NT4. I still have the NT6 though. Here's my new adopted child and his big brother...

Yep,no problemo mate.
I cant say for certain if the preamp is the same,coz originally Thumbs had a 2 band MEC preamp.They now have a 3 band.
There's plenty of space in the cavity for either.
 
Putting the MEC Golds in would mean my thumb is fully active right?

My thumb has passive Bartolinis and I'm not sure if I need to change the preamp.

Would you happen to know how the 3 band preamp is wired?
Its currently vol(active/passive) push pull, blend, stacked bass treble.
 
That's standard pot layout.
Can you post a pic of your preamp?That'd make it easier to identify what you have in it.
