=The Warwick Streamer Club=

She really iz a beauty Nacho...mucho congratz !...8:

I believe you are one of the lucky basstards that have a post 2009 LX, when the maple switched to AAA grade. Enjoy! :)

Well guys, "the eagle has landed". I´m at work so I only had the chance to made this crappy cellphone pic.

It´s a wonderful ´09 Streamer LX 4 string in antique tobacco. More info and better pics soon.

Hail to the mighty LX! Killer bass, Nacho...

Hello guys,

As promised, I´m gonna give you a quick review and some "better" pics of the bass, although I´m having a very busy weekend and haven´t time to make a decent photoshoot.

First feelings about the LX:

Construction/Shape/Body:
When I open the gigbag the first thing I saw was the FLAME, omg, what a beautiful flame, all the body has those patterns, front and back. It´s a 2 piece body of very light maple, and is the slimest bass I´ve ever played, even the Infinity feels thicker.

The ovankol neck is thin, too. I´ve tried many 4 string ´wicks (most of them Corvettes) in stores and the necks were the ones some people call "baseball bats". Well, this one is nothing like that. TBH, I would be happier if the neck has the "bat" profile. ;) The wenge fretboard, just like frets, looks like new.

Hardware and pickups are spotless, no scratches, no nothing. I guess this bass was used just few times.

Being an used bass, it has some minor scratches here and there on the body, nothing really to care about, because the Antique Tobacco finish looks gorgeous over the flamed maple.

The bass is small, compared to my P-bass and Jazz bass (see pics) it looks like a guitar ;), I used to prefer big bodied basses (Thunderbirds, P-basses), but now I don´t care too much about it.

Sound:
The bass sounds very loud unplugged. It doesn´t have that "woody" character that you can here when play the Infinity unplugged, but it shows a lot of harmonics.

When plugged... BOOOOOM! In your face, aggresive, bright sound. Very punchy bass, it feels kinda thin compared to the Infinity, I think the Set Neck give the Infinity more low end, more sustain. But what the Streamer lacks in low end (nothing that you can´t compensate with some EQ) it excels in attack and "punchyness".
As many of you pointed out, this bass has a very distinctive tone, but it has the P-bass sound there, with a twist. Using a pick with the P pup you have a really nice rock sound, add some chorus and you could play GnR´s forever. ;)
Using both pups, fingerstyle, it rocks. I played some Maiden tunes and I loved how the harmonics flooded the song.

So far the bass is everything I expected, and I´m sure it will grow on me like the Infinity did. Actually I wasn´t that overwhelmed like the day I received the Infinity, maybe because now I have more experience with Warwicks and I wasn´t "virgin", and I know what I was getting. Don´t get me wrong, I´m lovin´ it! 8:

Enough talkin´:

Don't let "thin" fool you. You will need little or no bass boost when using it in a live mix. It has a very balanced and complete sound. :)

Thanx guys, I´m working on recording some clips with the LX, and maybe an A/B demo with the P-bass and the Infinity. So stay tuned.
