=The Warwick Streamer Club=

warning they're addictive

Ha... Going by your collection I'd say so! Luckily money will stop me from having another too soon. Of course there is always drug dealing or pimpin'... But am I that desperate? ha

Welcome Jake! :d

Don't worry, that's one of the best Warwick basses :-)

+1, your LX (with the wenge neck as a special touch) is one badass bass. Does it all. :)

Wow that is one of best looking streamers I've seen! I love that ocean blue? My car is similar in color

Yeah it looks beautiful but I'm eager to hear how it sounds when I clean it up and bung on the new strings!

Perhaps I should record a little video or something of some Warwick Jammin' huh? ;)

Do it, do it :-) We love clips here, on the forum. Flo loves the LX

That colour... that wenge neck... wow! Very sexy Streamer.

And YES! We want sound clips. 8:

Just out of interest, what would you guys pay for this Bass if I was selling it?

I'm not looking to sell at all right now as I'm in love with the thing. But I'd be interested to know what some Warwick pros such as yourself would price it at!

Worth and value are strange bedfellowers; ultimately it's worth what you paid for it. If you want to know what others would pay for it I'd do an ebay search of past sales in the UK. Getting values from Europe or the USA will well skew what you'd get in the UK as prices are so depressed in the UK they are way down on other countries. People wanting your bass will value it at £500, those that own a similar bass will tell you £1200... they want the prices high for when they sell.

True dat. I had my Streamer Stage 1 5string up for sale asking 1400 euros. Got not one serious reply. Times is hard.

Yeah I get ya. Was just interested in what the Warwick cats would pay for it! I've since cleaned the bass up. Wire wooled the neck (fretts look amazing) and lemon oiled it after. There's not an inch of dust on this thing now!

Sometimes you got a steal, sometimes someone else got a better deal. Take me for an example, I bought a Thumb NT 5 String off a forum member for $1,753 USD, Pretty good deal, if you ask anyone on the forum. I've seen LX sell for less what I've paid for my Thumb. I remember some would sell (pre-2000) under a grand or barely a grand on ebay about 6 months ago. Like that LX with the Nordstrand pups, I kind wished I had that one. :d

Based on how´s the used market these days, I think I would pay like 800-900€, because it has wenge neck and coloured body. If it were a "normal" LX, like 650-750€. As you see, it´s a buyers market right now.

Cool. Thanks for your replies! Granted I got a very good deal on the bass myself!

I sense you guys aren't into the pre 2000 LX's? Any reason why? I always prefered the wenge necks myself

What gave you the idea that people aren't into pre 2000 LX basses? If it's in reference to the values... have you asked yourself 'why' you snagged a bargain?

No I just meant to ask what are the big differences that make the newer models slightly better. I haven't really gotten a chance to get my geek on and read up on it all yet!

There's nothing 'better' on the newer models, in fact some people prefer the older ones. Old and new are quite similar; neck profiles might be a bit different but one man's meat is another man's poison!

Preamps on some models have changed, different frequencies or went from two way to three.
Some woods changed as well as neck laminations. I think my 2008 streamer is just as much a quality instrument as the vintage hand built ones I own and owned.

Warwick has always been consistent in delivering quality instruments.
