Hi Guys
I'm a proud owner of a Streamer LX 5 string broadneck bolt on s.n. H - 086676-01 . The bass sound ( or better, sounded ) great but yesterday , after a string changing and while I trying to straighten the neck , the truss rod is broken.... I'm desperate .... the bass it's not playable now due to the bow in the neck ..... what can I do???Is it possibile to change the trussrod or I must change the entire neck??? And how many cost the two options??? Which are better???
Please , please , please HELP ME!!!!
Thanks
Marco

the fingerboard has to be taken off
and the truss rod replaced.

I do not know whether a new neck will be cheaper in this case (maybe unless you have a matched headstock or something)

You can send the bass to Warwick using their repair service (see main page)

I had the same thing done by them a couple of years ago and the neck was like new again (it was a matched headstock)

hope this helps

Hi Marco! You have great Luthiers in Italy, I guess you will have it fixed. You need to buy a two way trussrod from shop.warwick.de

Hi guys. I am a newbie of this forum, from Italy.

I have two Streamers. The first is an 88 Stage II, a beautiful instrument. It is a four string with gold hardware, and (not common) Seymour Duncan JJ PU pair, I think it was a post-factory customization by the first owner. The tone of this Streamer is very aggressive and loud.
Then i have a ninety-something Streamer LX-5.
As soon as I can I will post some pics.

Bye.

Streamer std sound

Hi
I have a Streamer standard it is an old basses its mechanics are still west germany signed, so I 'm affectinate to it. As you know it is a passive one I don't know as to say but its sound is a little bit smooth, basses and treble are not well definited (in my opinion) it seem always in a middle frequency sound only little change happen setting different way tone on the bass or on the amp, situation not improve with new strings. So the question is: is it possible improve situation though a set-up way on the instrument (lute maker) or is an electrical problem? In the last case I'd like maintain it as passive one, but in order to have a well definite sound could you suggest me some pick up ? Now it is all original.

Thank you

Snared a Stage II yesterday... should be in my hands this week :) I've wanted to try one of these for a LONG time.

Can I join? Pictures from a store:

I have a question for you, guys: what do you think about position of the bridge? Shouldn´t it be more "submerged"? I am not sure if it effects sound (I guess not) but I dont exactly like it (aesthetically speaking).
