=The Warwick Streamer Club=

It's official!!!! - I'm now a proper member of this happy gang as my 5 string SSII arrived on Friday! It's already had its first gig and I have to say that I am a very happy bunny. I've been taken by surprise as to just how different it is to my sadly departed Thumb NT - far more subtle, rounded and more 'underneath' the band rather than the sit-up-and-bark' of the thumb. Will get round to posting photos in due course...oh and I can update my signature too at some point, I suppose!

Congrats! I consider the SSII-5 the cream of the crop in Warwick's lineup!

If anyone is looking to get rid of a Streamer Jazzman 5, shoot me a PM or email me at [email protected]. I'm GASing real bad for one and I happen to have some cash :)

My Streamer STD

This is my first warwick. I've had it for a few years now and find myself picking it up over all my other basses. (Ibanez/Fender)

I absolutely adore this bass and would for sure buy another.

That's the most beautifull Carolena wood that I've seen so far!!!
:shock::shock::shock:

As promised, here is a photo of my new SSII-5 which arrived on Friday. I'm sure I will do some more artistic photos in the fullness of time, but here's a quick snap...
PS - Don't ever ever ever ever buy a Behringer Rackmount tuner like mine...the guy in the shop assured me that it would work for bass. It doesn't. Well, nothing below the A string anyway...so for a 5 string it is only 60% effective!

Three or four weeks and I'll be joining the club, gentlemen. My Stage I fretless fiver is being built right now! :-D

2004 Streamer Stage II

Hello All,

I have a 2004 Streamer Stage II, Guitar Center was trying to move this thing back in 2006 and I got a pretty good deal, $1500 USD, brand new. It was my dream bass since I was 14 since P-Nut, Dirk Lance, and Stu Zender all played one.

Anyways, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm going to set up some pictures online to share my bass with you guys since going to need some advice on how to clean up the bass a bit. I seem to have smudged/darkened the wood a bit from slapping on a spot right below the pickups. Is there any way to give the wood a good freshening? You may or not notice that the wood of my bass is orange (!), I've seem some SS IIs like mine but was surprised it wasn't the clearer finish I've seen on some other SS IIs.

Cheers,

Hi Andy,welcome aboard.
Sand the affected areas with a scotchbrite pad untill the finish is all even, then wax it as you normally would & it should all be good again.

Thanks Greg, I'll try the scotchbrite clean up very carefully...

I'll be posting pics on my profile soon showing the before and after pics once I get to the cleaning!

To my fellow SS II owners, It is indeed a magnificent bass and there's nothing else like it. I think $1500 USD was a steal for it, I remember walking into Guitar Center in Sacramento a week after I began my first paid internship. They had just put her on the floor and I didn't have to think before committing to spend the rest of my summer's hard earned cash on it.

In college, this bass made a better road warrior than a piece of furniture. It went out to college bars, fraternity houses, salsa gigs, countless summer jam sessions; It just begs to be taken out and played! However, it's overdue for a cleaning before I send it out to be set up. If you see the attached pictures you'll see what I mean... the last wax job left those white little spots in the pores of the wood. SS II experts, please comment with any clean up tips to bring her back to original condition.

Great looking SSII Andy, and what a deal you got - wow!

I recently took a scotch brite pad to my thumb, and scrubbed down the whole bass, including the fretboard. I went at it pretty vigorously, esp. the back of the neck because I wanted to smooth down the ridges that had formed from the different woods expanding. If you do take this kind of approach I'd suggest taping up all the openings (pickups, jack input, etc) or you'll have wax/wood dust in places you'd rather not.

I was too much of a wimp to sand it.... but I picked up some Howard's Feed N' Wax after scouring the forums for some clean up advice. It looks brand new now and those annoying little white spots in the pores are gone. Pics soon!

I love my SS II :d :d :d :d !!!!!!!

Beautiful SS2 Andy.Yours looks pretty dark compared to mine,which is more orangy/honey coloured.Maybe it's just the pic.Either way,it's a stunning bass in both sight,sound & feel.
The Howard's feed & wax is just as good as the Warwick wax. Some say,it's even better.
Cheers mate.

Sweet mass!! I Alternate Howard's and Warwick wax and this is awesome. I like the Howard's orange oil that feeds the wax and the bees wax waxes it at once. With Warwick Wax I use lemon oil and then I wax with Warwick wax.

congrats!!

SS2s Rock!!
