I KNOW WHERE MY STREAMER LX IS.
That would be, here. Some pics:
It is a 2009 limited run Streamer LX with AAA flamed maple body. There is a mark over the P pickup that I'll be able to get rid of since I contacted HPW and the bass is natural finish and not honey violin as I initially thought. On pics with flash it looks better as the grain pops out but the looks do not represent an unstained finish. Oddly enough it looks more like honey violin in real life but it's just aged maple.
The neck wood is ovangkol and the profile is somewhere between fat D and slim C. It is very comfortable but still substantial for a big tone, I just love it. The bass balances perfectly too as the body is heavy enough. Total weight is exactly 4kg. The fretwork is insane as the previous owner had it professionally leveled, luthier obviously did a great job.
Tonally, ovangkol's complex mids blend beautifully with maple's sparkle to create a very nice timbre. I was afraid that ovangkol+maple could mean a bit of an "ugly" tone but that was not the case after all. I love the P/J combo and it is my first Wick with this pickup configuration. The reverse P is awesome, because of its top coil the bottom two strings get a bit of a ringing tone slightly reminiscent of a Thumb BO for example, very defined and punchy. Top two strings are fuller which is great, especially with a pick. P/J offers maximum flexibility for optimal pickup height adjustment.
If I am not mistaken these basses are not made any more, meaning you can't find a maple Streamer (wood changed to Cherry on WPS models). I wouldn't change a thing on this bass, it's just epic.
I'd like to thank
@verb whose help with arranging shipping from the UK allowed me to purchase this fine instrument. Without him it wouldn't have been possible and I give him extra thanks because he offered to do it.
