Because i bought it in bits, paid £100 for the body, pickguard and pickups. Paid another £57 for the neck, tuners and electronics. Pretty good bass for the price, plays and sounds very nice.

I spoze God can laff AT someone
or laff WITH someone. Looks like
you get the 'WITH' !

Double bass's is it, well im only renting this one, but i nearly have enough money for my own one know.

Its nothing fancy but here you go or as nice as Gastroks.

mines a crappy / cheapo palantino (or something like that) ...bought it as a factory B stock at Daddy's junky music for $399. Oh, and I can't play it very well either!

Your's (fatgoogle)...looks to be the real deal, very nice!

I ve only been playing 2 months now, but was told today that i have my first sort of gig playing Double bass at the end of June playing with some guitarists.

That ones just a laminate bass, but the one im getting has a carved spruce top ,and plywood sides and backs. Im just trying to find some one to buy my two cornets and 5 string bass, im going all out for this bass.

I messed with some of those $399 specials at the
Daddy's in Albany. You have my sympathy. OTOH,
my own URB is a $250 beater from GC ... repaired
head stock joint, home made end pin [by me] etc.

But it DID come with a bow [how decorative!] and
a bag with sketchy zipper. It mostly just occupies
space, cuz I also have a 41" EUB [Palatino, what a
coincidence LOL] which, with some ergo-modding,
is a pretty decent ax.

Here's "My Pal" prior to its departure from BassNW
[so none of the goodies behind it are mine ..... ]

Golem - they had one of those Palantino EUBs in the store when I got the URB...actually was going back and fourth between the two. and as much of a cheapo URB it is, I imagine with a proper set up it might be alright. mine also came with the bonus decorative bow..., oh and a gig bag - the friggin thing actually has shoulder straps..and when it's on my back the headstock stands at about 9 feet!

absurdicus!

LOL, i can just imagine some one standing on the bus with a DB on there back.

Got bored so i figured i'd show you some of my basses i sold

My G&L L-2000 tribby, very nice bass, but too similar to my musicman but not as agressive, no point in keeping it

Tobias toby pro 5B, nice bass with a nice neck but after i got my musicman, i barely used it, wasn't the right sound for me either.

Fender reggie hamilton signature jazz. Very nice neck, really slick and fast, but sounded too much like a fender! nice to have but i'd never have used it in a live situation
