Show Us Your Non- Warwick Bass Then!

New: Sire V7 Ash/maple
Old: Squier 1989. (Active MEC PUs and Preamp, Warwick Bridge, bone nut) and Warwick Corvette GPS 2016.

Don't like V7 yet - Sound is too dark (I put brand new Daddario Prosteels like on other Basses and acoustically Strings sounds OK) - will try to connect PUs direct to output jack to hear if they are the Cause before PUs replacement - maybe they are voiced that way and if that is the Case, they will be replaced. Or my Ears are used to MEC PUs Sound which is bright and pleasing to my Ears? Preamp helps, but still somewhat dark and undefined. Maybe Vol, Blend and Tone Potentiometeres (unknown resistance - they dont have anything writen on them) are to blame?

Well, Sire V7 is perfectly fine. Had troubles with cable  New Cable and problem solved (funny, same Cable works fine with Warwick).
Anyway....
Sire V7 5 String (Ash/Maple), active mode, bass and treble boosted a little, both Pickups 50/50, Prosteels 170-5 Strings. Recorded on portable recorder via headphones output on Scarlett 6i6 (Scarlett is in standalone mode and not connected to PC at the Moment). I'm new with Plectrum style, so excuse me for errors.
Played over background Music from mp3 player connected to line input on Scarlett.

If the pickups are active and the pots are high resistance there will be serious problems, including loss of treble.

I think your pick technique is impressive already. But if you can improve it, that would be very welcome of course. I presume you 're using only downstrokes on the first clip, but alternate on the second?

Well if you are new with a pick, that's pretty damn good! maybe work on your left hand muting for those little stops/rests you are doing

Good point, i noticed that i need to work on that. No problem with fingerplay, i suppose i use both hands for that.

Yeah I bet that's it. Muting is such an unconscious thing. Your comment made me think about it, and I do use my right hand fingers to assist in the muting when I do something like that. But honestly it was probably only really noticeable because the bass is so up in the mix.

Look, I made a collage....all my basses in one pic :)
