Show Us Your Non- Warwick Bass Then!

NBD... very impulsive one lol. I've been getting over tuning my thumb all the time and I've been eyeing off 6 string(NT) thumbs but they are mega expensive so I bought a nice little 6er to see what I think before the big jump....ok ok it's the enemy but it was an absolute bargain bass..looks and plays pretty good and sounds ok.

Spector classic 6.

1. Here are my two together in peace treaty.

2. Black quilt maple is a fine thing!

It's a BO, yours too? FAT sounding this one. Maybe I should try to play with a pick to let it rock even more.

Yes, mine is BO too, I feel BO are punchier. Great growl and punch, and mine is really a slap monster

That's it! It sounds like my Infy in slap contour mode. Very massive bottom, thick sound. Growly? Maybe I have more growly Wicks. That's why I want to test it with da pick. Also I still can vary the strings. Nice project!

Yeah maybe not like a thumb, but I always loved the sound of it. Have some decent songs recorded with it, and the one song I have a solo, and I just love the way it sounds. I am sure a pick will make it punch more. I never use a pick, so idk, although I do play chords by holding my hand like I have a pick, and strumming with my nails. I guess the fact that I use the same strings in every bass makes me weird based on what I have read here. Dean Markley Blue steels, medium light. Have use those strings literally for 20 years.

Dean Markley - check! Will try them on the Katana! I used those on my Streamer when we recorded our last album.

Wow! Lovely family :)

Nice variety too. 4, 5 and 6 string with an upright to boot. Sweet!

Thank you! I try not to have too much overlap and I know it's sacrilege not to have a Precision but the Bongo and the $$ can both pull of a p-bass tone with ease. The NS can go from very upright sounding to very electric or somewhere in between and the Vette Std. and Thumb are just pure warwick tones all the way. I have gone through a ton of basses over the years but only hang on to the ones that are useful and usable in a gigging situation. Of course I haven't gigged the Thumb or Vette Std yet(both recent acquisitions) but they'll both see stage time this weekend. My most gigged basses are the NS and $$ as they are very versatile and sound fantastic in a 3 or 4 piece combo.
