Any experience with 5 strings Warwick basses on high c tuning ?

Hi to all the warwick enthousiasts, I will very soon join the club, and I am playing on 5 five string bass but with a high C tuning. Does anybody play warwicks on this tuning? What are your experiences with it? Did you have some special settings or adjustements to do? Thanks for your reply. Ed.

    5 String tuning

Hey Guys, Just picked up my first 5 string and I am wondering what tuning everyone uses (besides the conventional G D A E B). I used to play my four string tuned G D A D. I'm playing with G D A D A on the five string and finding it quite interesting ( the bottom A is crazy :) ) So...

    Alternate Tuning

So I have a 5 string thumb bo, and I recently bought a 6 string set of strings, and strung it E-C instead of B-G, the nut works perfectly with the thinner strings, but I was wondering if I will need to take the bass in to get a setup for things like a truss rod adjustment or anything like that...

A String not as loud as the others?

Hello all. I've been playing around with the EQ settings on my Warwick Profet 5.1 to see if I can improve the sound, and I've got a really good sound coming out now. Problem is the A string doesn't seem as loud as the other 3 strings, and I don't know why this is?? I have an Ibanez...

Thumb neck dive - does changing the tuning pegs actually help?

So, I am struggling a little with the 'neck dive' of my thumb, and I read some advice about exchanging the tuning pegs for lighter ones. Has anyone here done it? Does it make for a significant difference?

    Tuning help

Hi, I have a Corvette Standard six string, and I'm having a problem with it - the 23rd fret high B note on the C string is constantly out of tune. It's the only note I notice a problem with; when you play it over the open G string below it sounds really sour, when it should should very...

    Tuning keys

Ive got a brand new corvette std 6 and the tuning keys seem to have some play in them. I was just tuning the bass last night and felt it shift very slightly as I was tuning it. The bass stays in tune it just concerns me that they are able to move around from side to side like that. This just...

    High C Tuning

What's up everyone? Just wondering...can a 5 string Corvette Standard be strung with a EADGC with the standard nut or does a special nut need to be cut to accomodate this tuning? I have a 5 string with a low B but really don't make use of the extended low range so I thought I'd go with the...

Stage One other tuning possible ?

Hello ! I have a Warwick Streamer Stage One of 1992. The strings are now E-A-D-G. I want to change the strings to B-E-A-D ! Could this damage the bass-guitar ? Are there other reasons why I shouldn't do that ? Thanks StageOnePlayer This is my first post here in this forum. So hello...

    My Tuning Solution

About 2 months ago joined a band and the guitarists tune a whole step down and I followedd suit with a D / G / C / F. tuning on my 4-string Corvette $$. One song we do is in drop C, so I thought that was enough of an excuse to pick up a d-tuner, and it works like a charm! Even from the D / G...

Tuning key issues on a Corvette Std 6

Howdy. My Corvette Std 6 has an issue with its tuning keys. I'll try to explain: The tuners are held to the bass by two pieces of hardware: a small screw and a 15mm nut-like thing attached to a sleeve that goes around the tuning post. While changing the strings I noticed that all three of...

Neck / nut / bridge adjustments after tuning down to C?

I’m in desperate need for some expert advice here! I’m going to be auditioning for a gig later this week and the band has given me explicit guidance to tune down each string of my bass 2 whole steps (ie., E string down to C). I did this on my 4-string Corvette $$ (which was set up...

    different tuning options?

Is it possible to get a different standard tuning e.g. taranis, dark lord for any BO warwick bass?

Vampyre SN4 vs. Darklord (in standard tuning)

Whats really the difference between them? Here is what i think: Scale length - the vampyre is 34" while the darklord is 35" ... this means a lot as far as playability is concerned. The vampyre plays really smooth and soft as butter, meaning your vibratos, tapping and melodic lines will really...
