    JAN III

I apologize in advance for the likeliness of this already being covered, but i couldn't find the post through searching. I am finally getting around to putting on the JAN III and when I line it up, there is a gap between the edge of the fingerboard and the nut, but in the manual, it lines up...

weekend bass project: JAN 1 question and cleaning dirt

Hey guys, this weekend my SS2 will undergo a big facelift. It'll get new electronics, a brass nut, and some cleaning. First question is: On the old warwicks, is the brass JAN1 sitting on top of anything? or is it stuck directly to the wood? If it's on something, can you post a pic showing it...

    Jan II broken

As I'm a bit nervous right, I didn't take the time to look for every topic on the subject, but I read in a few posts here and there that it's kinda usual to break the JAN II. Here is my situation : My corvette $$ is 3 month old and today I wanted to do my first strings change. I put off the...

    JAN III Problem

I've been changing my JAN II to a III. And I've come up with a bit of a problem.... The angle of the head and the angle of the end of the neck are not 90 degrees - this is fine with the JAN II as it can rotate on top of it's "pins", but the JAN III can't rotate. Here's a picture so that...

Filing down the ends of a JAN - pros and cons?

Has anybody had any experience with rounding off the sharp corners of a just-a-nut? Not enough to make a big difference, just enough to round off the corners so that when I play near the nut, it's not quite as uncomfortable. Maybe just a few passes with some superfine sandpaper. Any ideas...

    hello forum/question on JAN III

I've been lurking around for the last few months since i bought my 02 Thumb 5. Thanks to you all for great advice and information. I've also been really happy to listen to a lot of your music. Lots of diverse styles, all Warwick. Reinforces what a good decision it was to buy it. It sure wasn't...

JAN III not free in Canada?

It's nice that Dana B. Goods is supplying the new nut for free to US residents, and that Warwick, apparently, is doing the same for European owners, but up here in Canada it's $9.00. Not much, so pretty reasonable, I guess, unless you make the mistake of taking your bass to a dishonest repair...
