U2 - Adam Clayton with Warwick - live!

Bigger body?!

Hi Florin,

Thanks for the information on the picture in question. Seems that Adam has certainly been trying a lot of different Warwick's out during the 'No Line On The Horizon' album sessions and resulting U2:360 tour.

Good news for Warwick. Great to see Adam playing such amazing bass guitars.

Was the reverse body on the Stryker something Adam asked for or something suggested by Warwick? As 'odd' as it looks at first, it is actually a very striking looking instrument. That's right - I said it! A striking Stryker. =O)

This is a Streamer Stage II with a bigger body, and birdseye maple top :-)

bigger body... hmmm... i don´t know if i should like this :-) doesn´t look too good.

I'm with you on this one Beda, the birdseye Streamer Stage II doesn't look as appealing as Adam's dark brown Streamer Stage I, the gold sparkle Streamer $$ or the reverse Stryker.

But maybe the birdseye Streamer Stage II sounds great?

Adam asked for the reversed body. And it is not just a reverse body, it is modified slightly.
The one with Chicken head pegs is full passive, with bass and treble pots and capacitor switch. The pickups are custom wired by Seymour Duncan
The other one is with normal 3 Way EQ, the first we made for him :-)

Yep, if you look good, it's totally different than a normal Stryker, but still a reversed kinda shap of it.

Cool info, Flo!!

I'm quite tall. 1.90 m. My Buzzard is okay, a Streamer is just about okay, but Corvettes just look to small on me. So I wouldn't mind a bigger Streamer.

Here are the four 'specimens' of reverse Strykers that I've found pictures.

Could it be he has four (or more)?

Could the one with chickenhead knobs originally had the (4) gold knobs?

# 1 with (2) mirror pickups / (4) gold control knobs:

# 2 with (2) passive mirror pickups / (2) gold control knobs & (2) black chickenhead knobs:

# 3 with (2) mirror pickups / (3) gold control knobs in succession near the bridge, and a 4th knob (master volume?) near the neck:

# 4 with (2) passive mirror pickups / (2) gold control knobs:

This appears to be the newest, first used November 5th, 2009 in Berlin:

Didn't Flo checked the wood-grain in both the four knob as the chickenhead? I believe they're both the same bass.

Adam's heavily customized Streamer LX?

I had a look around and found a few more pictures. Seems Adam only used this bass for a show or so. He did use it in Amsterdam on July 20th for "Sunday Bloody Sunday".

So this one (below) is a heavily customized Streamer Stage II?

Cool. Not as cool as the Stryker but still cool.

I stand corrected. ;)

How do you like the pictures? I was glad to find a few of Adam playing this bass.

Thank you again for your help and the link you provided to get a bit more info. Marcus has been very cool and very helpful. Most appreciated.

I gotta say, all the folks from Warwick are helpful, friendly and nice people.

Thanks man!

Yeah, Marcus is a very nice and helpful person. He can also build all kind of wooden stuff :-)

I forgot to thank you for the pics, I suppose it wasn't easy to put them together!

Flo, you're talking about the 1 pick up Stryker having volume, tone and a capacitor switch. Do you know more about this last feature?

It could be a 6-string body with a four string neck, indeed. Or just a one off...

It IS a one-off, and I can confirm (from the horse's mouth) that it IS a Six-string body but in a 4-string.

:D

And now we need some answers about the capacitor switch on the one pick up Stryker/Rekyrts.
