U2 - Adam Clayton with Warwick - live!

I thought that the LX had Active MEC pickups (4-string: P/J, 5-string: J/J, 6-string: H/H) Active MEC 2-way electronics?

The one inn the picture of Adam 'appears' to have something similar to Active MEC J/J pickups.

But you are the official photo so you'd know better than I.

Perhaps a custom finish Streamer LX (as you mentioned) customized more with the Active MEC J/J pickups?

Yup, Streamer LX base, sprinkle of awesome

Thats what I mean, it is a heavily customized Streamer LX

Ah, thanks for the info.

Great bass. Looked and sounded good (in the clips I saw on youtube)

Maybe if Warwick does make it an Adam Clayton 'signature model', as rumoured, you will photograph the adverts for Bass Player magazine and the like?

So Adam has three reversed Strykers? A one pick up, and two with two pick ups. The differences in the ones with two pick ups is an extra control knob at the lower horn of one of those.

Could be 3 total Strykers? The one split pickup version appears to be a new aquisition.

"The differences in the ones with two pick ups is an extra control knob at the lower horn of one of those."

4 knobs:

3 knobs:

2 knobs / 1 split pickup version. Latest aquisition:

Could it be that maybe one of the knobs was later removed? If so, what would be the reason for that. If there is a 4 and a 3 knob version... what does the 4 have or not have that is different from the 3?

Thanks in advance. Perhaps one of the official Warwick folks can enlighten me?

If I see it right, the first one we saw onstage had four control knobs in a row and a small switch.

The second one has three knobs in a row, the fourth knob at the horn, also the small switch but also an extra switch in line with the three knobs. So the extra switch could be for LEDs?

Fantastic!!! Does anyone know te specs for this one? Florin?

It is actually a custom Streamer $$, with maple fb wood, black block inlays, maple neck, swamp ash body, custom wired Seymour Duncan pickups, full passive electronics, but with a custom wiring.
And a nice special GoldFlake finish :-)

Thanks for the insight and specs on the Streamer $$.

Have you any information on the other Warwick's that Adam is using?

The is the question of the 3 vs. 4 knob Stryker. Two diffferent bass guitars or was it a 4 knob that they later removed one?

I've heard that he's been sent a few other bass guitars, a Dolphin and I saw a brown Streamer used for "Electrical Storm" earlier in the tour.

Being a big U2 fan (obviously), I want to learn more about the great Warwick bass guitars that Adam's been taken to using on this tour.

Ahh I forgot about the $$. I can never guess right with warwick models :d

I'd call it a Streamer LX with the $$ woods... Cause to me "$$" is about humbuckers... But you get my point.

Anyway it's cool to see that two of the biggest bands (U2 and Metallica) on the planet play Warwick basses !!!

Curious-er still...

So there is
  • ...the newer Stryker with one split p'up and 2 knobs.
  • There are pics of the 2 p'up Stryker with 3 knobs.
  • There are pics of the 2 p'up Stryker with 4 knobs.
What about this one!

2 p'ups, with 4 knobs BUT the two middle ones look like black chicken head knobs.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Curious and curious-er still!

4 knobs:

3 knobs - but this one looks like the a knob was removed... maybe Adam kept it set and it was in his way?:

2 knobs / 1 split pickup version. Latest aquisition:

I think the one with a chickenhead is just a shadow?

Removed knob: Isn't that an extra switch?

from the figuring in the maple, the 4 knob one and the one with the chickenheads seems to be the same...

All I know is Adam is living the dream! Rocking huge stages around the world with piles of custom WW's. Must be good to be King! He just needs to switch to Hellborgs now.

I first thought a shadow too but it isn't... there would be shadows from all four knobs and not just the two middle ones.

Plus you can see the point-y bit on the chickenhead knobs.

I think you might be right about this.

I will have to check my pics from the PHX, Vegas and Pasadena shows to see which version(s) he was using then.
